If you remember last year, this happen with the other two pitchers. They said they were coming and they went else where. For the money.

 

Yeah but, and I didn't scroll through his entire twitter page, but it appears he only posts every couple months and they are innocuous posts. Doesn't strike me as he is trolling.

 

In any event, don't expect any official news on Canady for some time. They are in Japan playing from the 4th through the 8th and must be heading there tomorrow or Tuesday. I doubt she will announce a choice before sometime in the middle of July.

 

Whats nice is regardless of where she goes. We will be contenders.

 

Plenty of time for Jocey and Skylar to talk up UF!

 

Nijaree is taking her time as she should. She didn’t get into Stanford by being a dummy. She is however walking away from a very prestigious degree. I think she wants a championship, who doesn’t. Rewatch her vs Oklahoma in the WCWS her freshman year. She is an absolute competitor! Now that she’s leaving Stanford she’s going somewhere that can provide a bit of offense and maybe a really good degree also. UF can offer an education Oklahoma can’t.

 

UF is going to win some softball nattys too.

 

Going to be interesting seeing what she decides. The fact that her going to Oklahoma isn’t signed sealed and delivered as many from Oklahoma are preaching speaks volumes to me about her as a person.

 

I still think Rocha is the best pitching coach in the game but we got a really good one now ourselves! I can forgive her for her bama years lol.

Oh, if this turns out not to be true I intend to provide both Accountability *holds up right fist* and Justice *holds up left fist*.

 

I hope we don't get her. This current squad easily has the talent to win the WCWS next year and the year after. We don’t need to buy a superstar to win a championship and end up with the same reputation as Oklahoma.

 

If she comes, I don't think it would be because we "bought" her. I don't think we can win a bidding war and I don't think Tim would go nuts and potentially cause disruption in the locker room. We will/would come up with something but it won't be outrageous as Oklahoma operates.

 

She is a good pitcher, no doubt. I fear if she were to come to Florida it could disrupt the team chemistry and do more harm than good.

 

As some have said...you don't want to disrupt chemistry, and you are right we have the talent to certainly challenge for a title.
By the same token...I didn't feel bad or worry what anyone said about us having Wallace, Otis, and Erickson on the roster last season, won't feel bad that Calahan is out there next year. It's part of the game now.

 

None of the three you mentioned had just won softball player of the year. If getting Nijaree, destroying most of the competition next year, possibly going undefeated, and easily winning the WCWS is fun for you so be it. I for one prefer this current group to do it on their own and find it more entertaining.
