FSU is a university in the south hence some are southern good-ol-boy redneck types

 

One or two around Gainesville I presume

 

For sure - but not as many as in Tuscaloosa, Athens, Knoxville, Auburn, …..

 

Gainesville has gained some culture over the last several decades but it’s still in the middle of rural Florida. Florida is definitely a southern state if you look a little closer.

 

Yes we are - some parts more than others. But we’re also more diverse than the Deep South - for better or worse

 

It is high class southern.

 

If you ain’t southern, you ain’t from round here.

 

True that FSU is a school more aligned with the South and its culture. More Southern than UF . Truly UF is more aligned academically and culturally with the ACC.

 

It has started to feel that way. Its changed a lot since I was there
