Well that's interesting, thanks JB. I'd like to see more, but he seems at least fairly athletic and you can't teach size.

6-11? Well, I guess we can go to a downsized guy if he works out.

    Welcome aboard!

Moves pretty fluidly for 6'10". Lots of depth down low. Five years ago this would have been a great thing, in the day of the transfer portal, you kind of start worrying that depth means kids will be leaving just when they are ready to contribute.

On the flip side, all the size makes me wonder if we might see more of Haugh in the 3 spot. Between Mikic, Alexis, Condon, Chinyelu, Rioux, and a rehabbing Handlogten, only so many guys can play the 4-5. Sure a few of these might be unknowns but I'm still intrigued what 3 bigs on the court could do if we get the right guards to support it. Ball control becomes an issue without a true PG so we must understand that position first before anything else.

Last year they would have called a foul on us for hitting the guy's elbow with our face

This kid is sort of a surprising take given what we were targeting (younger guards/wings), especially given the relative proximity of the other bigs in terms of class distribution. Maybe we got nervous about depth since Handlogten is taking up a scholarship.

I did wonder if this would allow Haugh to spend a little more time on the wing. I have been in the camp that saw him being a better matchup problem at the four because of his energy, athleticism, and ball skills (he was also by far our best finisher around the rim last year, statistically speaking--he didn't miss many bunnies). I don't necessarily love him handling the ball, shooting, or defending 20 feet from the basket against quicker wings. But it's worth saying that Golden really liked combo forwards at San Fran, and his mentor, Smith, has used them effectively at his stops.

I wouldn't expect to see much of rioux once we get to sec play. Except maybe to just play with people's minds lol.

Everybody has heard of the three guard offense but has anybody heard of the three center offense? Closest I have heard was "Twin Towers".

On the west coast they like to serve Tri-tip steak cuts, very good. Maybe we call them the Tri Tipsters!
