Rather than trying to shuffle out of this and redirect, why not just accept that you posted something fake, apologize, and move on. It’s not that hard to do.

I think you’d be hard-pressed to make a case that @rivergator is a Trump supporter. He’s just being honest. Just because someone pushes back against lies about Trump, does not make that person a Trump supporter. We need more honesty.

 

I thought the meme was funny and most likely true. I will say that when Trump said there were "good people on both sides" it was just a snippet of the overall speech and cut out the part that we don't tolerate hate.

I would say there are tons of trumps in here that need to apologize if we are holding everyone to a certain standard.

But he DOES have an unnatural infatuation with his daughter. If you had watched Katy Johnson on video talk about what trumph did to her, including making her wear a blonde wig, you'd know what I mean.

 

Wow, it went from her stating that she showering with her dad when she was little might have been inappropriate, to showering every day for YEARS? She added it as a side note, not as a trauma. I think if it was, she would have confided in her diary. She was being sexualized by a family member whose home she didn't want to go over, and had "sex with friends at a young age". Does she say her dad was one of those that sexually exploited her? No.

Mentioned it when you posted the same meme in another thread, it sounds much more like the current Republicans than the Democrats. It's Republicans who are supporting censorship and book banning in public schools and public libraries and are promoting a whitewashed version of American history that ignores or minimizes the history of racism in the US.

 

It all depends on what the books are about, and who the books are intended for. Pornography for kids should NEVER EVERY BE ALLOWED.

But making this about THE ACT of burning books and not the contents of those said books makes every "book burning" even unique and different. But keep screaming Hitler as if he wrote these books in question.

I don't condone either action of letting kids read these porno books nor do I condone unnecessary censorship, but we have to use common sense when deciding what's right for our kids.

 

I agreed. We should elect a criminal, proven sexual abuser, tax fraud and adulterer as President to show those kids the proper role model. OMG

 

I trust librarians and teachers to determine what is age appropriate for school children. That being said if parents do not want their children to read a particular book they should have the right to require that the school restrict access to that book insofar as their child is concerned. They shouldn't be able to restrict access for my child. While I do not know if the books were actually banned Duval County was considering banning the biographies of Jackie Robinson, Hank Aaron and Roberto Clemente because the books described the racism experienced by all three baseball players.

When my son was in elementary school back in the '90s a book entitled "Heather has Two Mommies" was really triggering religious conservatives for reasons that should be obvious from the title. My son didn't have to read the book since one of his classmates actually did have "two mommies". From what I could gather the birth mother of the girl was originally in a conventional marriage, divorced the child's father and some time later entered into a same sex relationship. I don't think any of her classmates were traumatized by the knowledge that she had two mommies and I seriously doubt that they even understood the concept of sexual preference.
