    Where the crawfish stay.
Seems like Sully is setting/recruiting next years roster with the intention of staying. He is working the portal to upgrade areas. He is the 3rd highest paid coach in College baseball, he is older and I would assume doesn’t need the money nor headache of moving across country. It’s easier to make changes when you’re in your 40’s but starting over and leaving a recruiting hotbed just wouldn’t be desirable to me at his age.

Schloss has to be their first choice.

Vitello -- UTex arrogance and his form of arrogance just don't quite jive to me. But maybe I'm wrong -- every combination of fruits I tried to use as a metaphor came up with some consumer product on the google. OTOH, TV's just won a Natty; he's gonna get his Tennessee $$$ even if it means cutting some corners on the stadium.

Bakich -- most likely hire unless Schloss is in the bag.

Wes Johnson -- oh, I'd love this. First off, it would get the other SEC "pitching whisperer" further away from Sully geographically and in recruitment. I have stories of his time in Minnesota... I'm sure he and the Texas-oil-men NIL leaders are gonna get along great and WJ's wife and their wives even better. (And that I have no sense of sarcasm.)

Unless they go dramatically over the top with a salary offer, it is hard to see Sully leaving the security he has here for a place that just fired a coach who won more than 60 percent of his games and went to the CWS in 3 of 7 years (excluding Covid year). In fact, there is a very fair argument that Pierce’s record has mirrored Sully’s over a similar period. So much so that, had our postseason fates been reversed this year, Pierce would have been the more successful since 2020.

And after an NIL issue last year, we seem to be back on track with Sully recruiting at or near the top across HS and the portal. I don’t think he’d get better players there.

Plus Sully's recruiting record is tied to leveraging Florida's (the state, not UF) Bright Futures scholarship program and he was a big part of designing the dimensions and player-not-fan facilities in Con'Dron... he's here until 2033.. when he'd be 64. So pretty much for life.

If Texas can't get a big fish, they will focus on Texas AM pitching coach, TN recruiting coordinator or even Tulowitski.

I was afraid of this… don’t know what the problem was/is between him and the coaches but he always seems to be in the doghouse but with pretty solid play. I can’t imagine it’s off the field stuff as he’s married and a pretty quiet guy. Smh I wish him the best, somebody is gonna get a stud of a cf’er.

No knowledge about the situation but I hope he goes to Stetson who needs a good CF. He could probably raise his BA to close to 300 in that conference and with his defense might get a few looks. Because of his faith I would think he would be a good fit with Stetson. Frankly I don't see him going there but UCF or USF could most likely be his next step.

Robertson hit a combined .243 the last two seasons and was never consistent swinging the bat. Adding to his issues getting on base, he only walked 12 times this past season resulting in an unproductive .319 OBP.

Good kid but he was simply recruited “over” by the staff and we’ll see how it works out. Not sure of UCF’s returning OF depth, but I know Robertson is good friends with Matt Prevesk so maybe that is a potential destination.

I like Robertson, but -- and without defending some of the early season playing time decisions around him and Guy -- he's a career .243/.341/.318 hitter. That's a hard thing to sustain in an aluminum bat league, no matter how good a defender you are.

While this was speculated for a while, I assume getting Kyle Jones drove the nail into the coffin. Jones isn't coming here to play a corner outfield spot when he surely has an eye on his draft stock, and Robertson really needs to play center field to maximize his value.

    EDIT: Dammit, sting.

When I think of CF'ers, I think of Mays, Mantle, Flood, Edmonds, etc. Guys who could play great defense and HIT. Sorry, but I dont see .243 hitters as ideal in CF. Lastly, hitting 9th is not ideal. Wish him well elsewhere. Thanks for the big hit double in 2024 CWS to walk it off.

Yeah, it's a shame Michael Robertson wasn't Willie Mays.

He had a really nice finish. Last 14 games, .327 BA, .455 SLG, .393 OBP (represents 15% of his total ABs). It's been a minute since he hit a triple, that may have been the final blow.

    Go GATORS!
