    Where the crawfish stay.
    Tournament walks.
Cag’s has now been walked or has walked 14 times in the tournament.
    NcSt 2
    A&M 1
    Clemson 4
    Okst 2
    Nebraska 5

Nebraska just didn’t pitch to him. 5 walks. When they did pitch to him, he made them pay, 3 hits and 4 RBI’s.

Clemson was equally terrified walking him 4 times. When they did pitch to him he had 3 hits and 5 RBI’s.

you realize He is elite level but when you breakdown what he has done in the tournament its really astonishing.

He's the best player in the country and the Golden Spikes should be ashamed.

By the way, this CWS our one thru five hitters have combined to produce just 4 hits, and Cags has 3 of them.

Despite getting practically nothing to look at.

That’s amazing. It’s been a struggle all year, the strikeouts and cold streaks.
As in another thread the 1, 3 and 4 batters are 0-22.
Hopefully they get BB or the bats wake up.

Caglianone is now 5-8 (.625) with two home runs, four RBI, four runs, and has reached base in 12 of his 15 plate appearances at the College World Series.

Friend sent me an amazing summary of his Gator career:

75 career HR’s: most in Gator history, T-8th most in college baseball history
Only player to hit 33+ homers in back to back seasons in college baseball history
104 hits in 2024: ties Florida single-season record
    Shattered Florida’s single-season slugging % record with .881 slugging %
Set a Florida record with a career .762% slugging %
Hit for .419 in 2024; second-best single season batting average in school history
Hit the longest home run ever recorded (516 feet vs. Florida A&M)
Third player in SEC history with 35 HR in a season
Led Florida to back to back national semifinals at the College World Series for just the second time in school history.
He was also Florida’s best pitcher in 2024

I haven't followed MLB in years... I will now watch Cags on his new team, wherever he goes. What's really impressive to me is his is K numbers (26 this year) considering how many of our gators had over 70 k's for the year (some over 80). It's a real puzzle to me as obviously he wasn't getting coached any differently than his teammates.

No doubt in my mind he will have a very impressive MLB career, and maybe even more than that.

I know we all know he only batted for 2 and a half seasons but it would be interesting to take his career numbers and rate them comparable to the number of games he played in. Then take the other top 10 players all time and rate them per games played. I would think Jac appears at the top in most every major power hitters number list.

Good thought matherly. This has to be true. Though I was actually surprised at how close are Laporta’s and Cags’ career number of at bats. Cags recorded 615 ABs in 2.5 seasons, and in 4 seasons Laporta only recorded 722. Clearly with another 100 ABs Cags’ numbers would be even further off the charts, but not as much as I would have thought.
