Florida Freshman Is The Tallest Basketball Player Of All Time And Makes Teammates Look Minuscule - NewsBreak
I'm very encouraged by the latest videos. He seems a good bit stronger, quicker and more agile than in previous videos. He has a good frame and well proportioned body for such a tall guy. With some hard work, I'm beginning to think he can be a contributor in a couple of years.
WHAT????????? This young mans Cub Scout master clearly missed the camping trail turn when visiting Ukraine and took the path to Chernobyl. Must have drunk the water at the stream and had a few "rabbits" to eat while there! Jeff - This guy can dunk flatfooted at 7' - 9" I think. WOW UF really is after height!
I was on a basketball court one day when Manute Bol walked in. He was not well proportioned like Rioux. But his height was incredible. And Rioux is 3” taller. Can’t imagine.
I think he can play now, at least on D. Just have him stand in front of the basket with his arms up. He already has the one skill needed for that job.
That may be a bit oversimplified. In hs that may work. In d1 ball, you gotta be able to move your feet. If you can’t, you’re gonna rack up a ton of fouls, and you’re gonna get dunked on like there’s no tomorrow.
It's not how big you are, but what you do with your talents. A BIG plate of spaghetti is not as good as a petite sirloin. EVER. At least, that is what my wife keeps saying to me. And she is never wrong, correct?
After watching the video I think Oliver has a good chance to play D1 ball. there is a lot riding on his ability to improve his fitness as I'm sure someone else has pointed out.
Look, he's a walk on. But imagine if he demonstrated coordination, some physicality and developed a shot other than a dunk. Defensively, if he develops stamina, clearly would be a force. I mean a guy like that would completely alter the opponents normal game plan.
You have to be able to move your feet, even when you’re that tall. Height sure helps, but you still have to get in position.
I hope that he develops into a player who can eventually earn a living at it, but he is starting out as a guy who typically did not get on the floor during IMG games that weren’t runaways.
Yes, at some point hopefully he stops growing. The tallest human ever died at 22. He was 8'11 and thought to still be growing.
Yeah, Chris Harry said last night that while the height is impressive the young man has serious work ahead of him to find any PT. But just think if he could become servicable in the rotation. Remember that super tall kid from UCF 2 - 3 years ago? He could play. Of course Zack Edey was exceptional. It's exciting to consider.
I mean yeah… but I think you are analyzing it too deeply. He said that he should be able to block some shots without fouling. That assessment is accurate and didn’t really need your qualifier. Surely, someone who is 7’9” is going to block some shots without fouling. It’s inevitable. He didn’t say that he won’t ever foul, and he also didn’t say he’ll be leading the league in blocks.
