Kurland has to find ways to get on tomorrow he may still walk him but at least it’s not as easy a decision. And someone behind Cags must step up crazy how little we have gotten from our 3-4 these first 3 games. Do you think we need a diff 3 hold hitter right now especially with how much Wilson has struggled.

He did get him a sac fly and a rbi today, but I agree we need to get him on base. He also had another nice hit to rf that their guy made a pretty great play on. Would have been extra bases if it got down.

Wilson is in his own head. He has completely changed his stance…..looks very rigid now.

I think we have to stay with the same lineup because there is no one else. Maybe Shelnut.
Just can’t believe we can win with Shelton, Heymen, Cade Kurland, and Donay. I guess you catch Heymen and DH Albert but that’s as deep as it can go. Evans and Yost being hurt has thrown a wrench into it. Yet we hang around.

Oh yeah he has been seeing the ball pretty well outside his first 2 at bats Saturday. Just hoping he can keep it going tomorrow to make it harder for them to just walk Cags.

I feel like maybe try Albert and use Donay later if anything but to give him a break, Heyman catching tomorrow and Cags at first. Shelton is one that really needs to figure it out, but end of the day I guess we will likely just ride what got us here at this point. Just hard or continue to watch some of them struggle so much and be instant easy outs.

If cags issue on the bump today was really that he’s just tired, I wouldn’t be surprised to see him dh. Someone reported that Sully said this. Don’t know how much I trust the source, but it was said.

Sucks if he does from a defensive stand point I get so nervous with Heyman at first.

I would think a tired arm wouldn't prevent playing first....only if there was suspicion of real injury

Robertson needs to lead off and Shelnut needs to bat behind Cags. He’s the only one that’s seeing the ball well right now.

I guess that would be the least common denominator. UK Coach knows we can’t protect him . UK Coach is so full of shit it makes me puke. Trying to now get the whole city backing the Kats . For a virgin he sure wants a lot of love.

The short answer is that ever since a certain game in the 1990’s, the Section E hecklers instituted a Gator tradition whereby all opposing pitchers are named “Earl”. I’ll leave it to @WESGATORS to fill in the particulars.

True, but it seems like a huge advantage, pitching-wise for teams who play the first day in the CWS.

“Wes Chandler was Percy Harvin before Percy Harvin was born.”

And we have gotten that advantage in prior including I think last year.

Truth be told, if I was the opposing coach I would walk Cags too.
As 74nole might say, when he or Alan were pitching..."You mess with the bull you get the Hornes"
Sorry 74, I've been waiting for a chance to use that.

Back in the mid-90's; there was a low scoring game, a new pitcher came in late, and gave up a few runs. My memory has him being announced as Earl. Well, Earl didn't last very long, and the next pitcher that came in proceeded to do the same thing, and it was no longer a low scoring game. That third pitcher received a chant of "You're just another Earl! You're just another Earl!" Any time the team saw a pitcher that started getting rocked, you might hear a "Look! Earl's back!" or something to that effect followed by some related vocal efforts of support for pitching "like Earl." It was originally just something that would come up when we saw a pitcher come in that didn't do well; but then it morphed into any pitcher almost in a wishful thinking sort of way. So now, any pitcher coming in is affectionately known as "Earl."

I checked through just about every box score (there were some missing, but the scores and the names didn't seem to match the memories). Never found an "Earl." It's possible that either he was announced incorrectly or that we heard the PA guy incorrectly. I suppose it's possible that the wrong pitcher was recorded in the box. But that's the story. We have no game confirmation; no scoreboard confirmation; not even an exact year (my guess would be 1996 or 1997), for all we know, it could have been a vivid hallucination.

    Go GATORS!
