Beat UK…..Go team fight

 

We're going to have to get some special pitching performaces from guys who haven't done much so far if we are going to get any further. It can happen, though.

 

UK used the guy from game 3 of the uf series as their starter tonight. He actually was the best of the 3 starters that weekend. The game 2 starter is available, but we hammered him for 6 earned in 4 innings

 

I'm new to the baseball board, so everybody don't pile on at once, but can someone give me the back story on starting a pitcher with an ERA over 9 and an 0-4 record?

 

He is clearly statistically due for a great performance

 

A little thin on who can start and throw possible starter innings, kind of pick your poison at this point, unfortunately anyone he puts out there that could throw will have a high era.

 

I’m sure he’s talking about Coppola. High potential guy who hasn’t had much work in three years due to injury.

 

He is due....and then some.

Another issue is that Coppola is coming back from an injury and requires a deliberate warm up routine. I am not sure what would happen if this weren’t true, but Coppola might be better viewed as a reliever that happens to throw the first pitch. He does have potential though, so I wouldn’t be surprised if he has a good game.

 

I think it's even more critical 4 of the top 5 batters start hitting. We're going to have to score our way to victories from here on out. If those guys continue to lay an egg, we're done.

 

It's been a while since I've posted it. But, thanks Gatorgal04 for everything you do. You just keep chopping wood, while some of us are occasionally baseballs lost in high weeds.

 

Is Slater injured?

Any update on whether Cags injured his arm yesterday?

 

Supposed to be coming back from an oblique muscle strain. Not sure of when/if he’ll be available.

The information on Cags was “tired arm”…..

That’s the last thing I have heard.

 

Pretty sure Sully said Slater was available going into Omaha. I don’t remember the last time he was highly effective, but I do believe he is available.

 

Lucas and Spielberg aren't available so we're going with Coppola.

 

It could be an "interesting" evening for weather. 2 local stations are saying storms are possible. Meaning it could be perfectly clear or perfectly horrible. Just have to wait and see what the fronts and such do.
