Baseball vs. TAMU, Sat 6/15, ~ 11:00 pm EDT

Looks like our next game is on Monday at 2pm against NC State (ESPN) in case anyone's interested.

I worked on one of my motorcycles this morning. Taking a break and will return to do some more after lunch.

We had a meh game in OK City and rebounded, so here's hoping we can do the same in Omaha.

 

Wouldn’t mattered if it was a wider or higher pitch we would have hacked. It’s been that way all season

 

The difference in this game was the patience and discipline of the Texas A&M hitters.

 

And Earl didn’t throw 0-2 pitches in the pipe.

 

I’m not really wanting to gripe about the umpires, but I did not feel like the gator pitches were getting the same courtesy of 2-6 inches Off the plate like A&M was

 

That’s the only time it should be an issue.

 

I thought Peterson got squeezed some....

 

Yeah it is amazing we had a chance to win the game considering we got squeezed and they didn’t, and our 1, 3 and 4 hitters went 0-12 with 9 k’s.

Poor Cags can’t get any protection.

 

One more foot and the umps would have done a fantastic job. Sometimes the baseball gods aren't on your side. I still can't believe that Coastal Carolina hit was fair. That inch won them the title IMO. We had 3 plays within a foot, the play at third by Dale, the bases loaded slow roller, and the ninth inning blast. Any one of those is a foot in our favor, we would have won. I tip my hat to this team, but there is an element of luck there whether you strike out 18 times and leave 12 guys on base or not.

 

Time for the Rally caps! Even someone like myself, whom knows little about baseball, know the odds are long with a first game loss.

But the Gators have shown amazing resilience in the playoffs this campaign.

I would love to see UF play FSU in the final, with UF disappointing FSU for what? THE 24TH OR 25TH TIME?

And that getting to Omaha was icing on the cake. Check

 

Hopefully the next team we play has shorter outfielders.

I was adding to your post, not attacking it.

 

Just finished the game. Clearly not the result we wanted, but our barely .500 battled all the way to end. Luck is always a factor and will only sometimes be in your favor. I am happy to even be here, but I also think we are definitely not out of it yet. Go gators.

 

Don't have to read anything--just sit near them and watch! Not LSU level--but maybe 1/2 step below.
