They’ll go down once the patent runs out on them, and a generic can be produced by multiple drug companies to create competition. If you aren’t on Medicare, however, almost all brand name drugs that are on the market have copay assist cards through their manufacturers website that can be split billed with your insurance. Insurance picks up most of the cost (if covered, might need a prior authorization) and then the coupon card will usually pay up to a certain amount and get it down even lower. Just an FYI.

Thanks, no I am on Medicare however those two prescriptions put me into what they call the donut hole (coverage gap) for 2024. I'm not sure the logic behind the coverage gap but once you & your insurance company have paid a certain amount for prescriptions Medicare requires that you are required to pay 25% of the full cost of medications. For Farxiga I think that monthly total is $148 for Anoro it is about the same.

Too bad Trump was too busy conducting election fraud and other crimes to try and fix this, huh?

Yawn. It was a half baked plan that allowed part D plans to volunteer to join and it never took effect. Biden = results. Promises made, promises kept.

You mean 50 years, and I call bull shit on you paying anything for my smoking. The last 10 years of your life is going to be every bit as expensive as mine. The difference is I will probably live 15 years on social security and you will probably spend 25 years on social security.Which one of us is more likely to draw more from social security? I get tired of hearing that smoking is costing non smokers money. I think tobacco tax pays for a hell of a lot more than any cost of smoking to non smokers.

Here again the last 20 years of a non smokers life is going to cost just as much in medical expenses as the last 20 of a smokers life but that non smoker is going to be living on social security and Medicare longer than a smoker.

But there is a cost difference between person A, who goes down hill at 55 and battles multiple illnesses 'til they die at 70 ... and person B who lives a healthy lifestyle and suddenly drops dead at 85. My wife's grandmother just died at 104 and don't think even spent a day in the hospital until her final 4 or 5 days... She lived on her own until her late 90s, and my father in law finally made her move in with him after he went to visit her and found her in her back yard trying to chop down a tree with an axe ... at 98 or so...

Yeah and my grandfather died at age 91 of cancer, never smoked a day in his life. My mother lived in an assisted living facility for the last 10 years of her life. Do you think their care was any cheaper than a smokers? You still didn't address the subject of paying 50 years of tobacco tax. I'm not buying the lie that smokers are costing non smokers money.

So the fact is Trump did sign an EO that capped the price at $35. Then Biden reversed it to review it and got it into a bill that was passed 2 years later.
Why didn’t Biden just leave it while the review was done and then pass it in the bill.

    Seems odd.

From what I've read, Trump's EO was extremely limited to a small fraction of insulin users and hadn't been fully implemented yet.

Don't forget that he constantly takes credit for reforms at the VA that Obama passed in 2016.
