This IMO is very similar to things like Michael Brown, Treyvon Martin, etc. People are going to have their initial reactions. Those initial reactions are often wrong as more evidence tells the whole story. Things are not always what they appear. There is definitely reason to be suspicious, though. Like this might warrant an investigation. I am not saying that Biden is not a pedophile. I can't say that with certainty. I also am not saying that he is a pedophile. He might be, but I think we should err on the side of assuming innocence as a general principle. There are certainly questions there, though. No question.

I think the damage that is done when you accuse someone of being a pedophile is catastrophic. We should be very slow to say or insinuate something that evil about someone. I would hope someone else would give me the same benefit of the doubt if I was accused of something false. If you put the two wrongs of staying silent about someone that is guilty vs. wrongly accusing an innocent man...the more severe offense is slandering an innocent man.

This being found in a diary, though, and the words coming from Biden's own daughter...if that is true...daughters don't usually lie about their own fathers.

There you go - let's just cut to the chase. You've already made a determination that he's guilty of....what exactly? Pedophelia? You've concluded that Ashley Biden must have been older despite there being no evidence of that. You've concluded that this is the specific event that caused her trauma despite there being no evidence of that.

I get it - it must be hard seeing all the accusations against, and crimes committed by, Trump. It's not fair that there isn't the same against Biden so you'll take an accusation that isn't really an actual allegation of wrongdoing and try to stretch it to something to make Biden look worse than Trump.

 

We have no idea what age or how frequent the showers Joe Biden took with Ashley. We can only speculate. But often in cases like these, once one person says something, the damn breaks. Are there any other accusations of Joe Biden doing anything inappropriate with other people's children? There is one accusation that Joe accosted a grown woman while he was a Senator. And a few accusations of Joe smelling women's hair. But I wouldn't call that a damn break. And nothing involving children.

Doesn't prove Joe isn't guilty. But the evidence points to Joe as not a pedophile. And as others have put it, showering with your kids is often innocent. My father grew up in a 2-bedroom apartment in Brooklyn with 2 siblings. Showing together was a necessity because of expense and lack of hot water.

 

So I think this thread clearly shows one thing......
The liberals here think it is appropriate to shower with your children, they themselves probably did it.
The too hot conservatives on the other hand know it is inappropriate and refrained from that activity.

The more liberal posters have just been pointing out that this isn't really that unusual or inherently concerning without further information. I highly suspect that right-leaning posters have had similar experiences but won't post as such because it would undermine the point trying to be made that Biden is bad.

 

Somebody seems to be really obsessed regarding the possibility that Joe Biden may have taken showers with his daughter. Kind of bizarre since the same poster is a supporter of the guy who referred to his own daughter as a "piece of a**" or also told a porn star while he was having a one night stand with her that she reminded him of his daughter.

You're the one jumping to pedophilia when the information we have just doesn't support that conclusion. She doesn't say her dad touched her or molested her in anyway. If he had, she's likely to have written something other than "probably inappropriate" which to me implies nothing more than what it is - they took a shower together. In today's society that would generally be considered inappropriate.

Regarding her age, we don't know how old she was so we can't make any inferences there. Agree she probably wasn't an infant or extremely young since she wouldn't remember. At minimum she was likey 3 or 4 and could possibly have been older but we just don't know.
