To whatever mod deleted a post and sent me the note to stop the insults: I didn’t insult anybody. I’m so sick of you people telling me I insult people. Get a dictionary.

What nonsense is that? We went from "United Colonies" straight to "United States of America" with no detours. United States FOR America doesn't even make sense.

"On September 9, 1776, the Second Continental Congress adopted a new name for what had been called the "United Colonies.” The moniker United States of America has remained since then as a symbol of freedom and independence."

On this day, the name “United States of America” becomes official | Constitution Center

figured you wouldn’t know QAnon actually started by a person named Ron Watkins on 4chan who used the handle “QAnon” in chat rooms and on threads.

"The end justifies the means." "Show me the man and I'll show you the crime."

American justice system is not much different than 1930's Soviet show trials. The US trials are more of a farce.

Because this is the way “Real Patriots” think:

When Trump was indicted in Georgia in August, his supporters posted the purported names and addresses of members of the grand jury. Special counsel Jack Smith, who is overseeing Trump’s federal election interference case in Washington, was the target of an attempted swatting on Christmas day. So, too, was U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan, who will oversee that trial, if the Supreme Court allows it to go forward (though that could change if Trump wins in November). When Michael Fanone — the former police officer nearly killed on Jan. 6 by Trump supporters who believed the former president’s lies about the 2020 election — criticized Trump at a press conference outside the hush money trial earlier this week, his mother was swatted

We need to identify each juror. Then make them miserable. Maybe even suicidal,” wrote another user on the same forum. “1,000,000 men (armed) need to go to washington and hang everyone. That’s the only solution,” wrote another user. “This s--- is out of control.”

A few comments on the significance of the crimes that were just adjudicated. Since the right wing is apoplectic over their claim that like all the other crimes Trump has committed, these ones shouldn’t count.

As testified by Hope Hicks and Mr Pecker, who were in the strategy meeting where everyone on the Trump team acknowledged that if the stormy Daniels incident got out on the heels of the Access Hollywood tape, his campaign would be over…

This was a classic “but for” moment.

But for these crimes, Trump would never have been president in the first place. And but for these crimes, Hillary Clinton would have been. Which means, but for these crimes, all of the rest of Trump’s crimes while president never would’ve happened, because he would never have been in position to commit them.

But for these crimes, Roe v. Wade would still be the law of the land. But for these crimes, we wouldn’t have a Supreme Court controlled by corrupt MAGA operatives. But for these crimes, they would never be a twice impeached president. But for these crimes, we wouldn’t have put babies in cages, instituted a shameful racist Muslim ban, had the worst jobs record of any president in our history, and we wouldn’t have lost over 1 million American lives that would not have been lost had the American president responded properly to COVID-19.

And here’s a little extra significance of this verdict: Trump just lost the 2024 election. I don’t believe he had a snowballs chance in the first place, but the consensus of polling and pundits is that this verdict conservatively cost him 2% of the Republican votes. And this is about the only polling that is ever accurate anymore, because Republicans are the only ones who respond to these polls.

His margin for error was zero, and this was a huge error. 34 of them. That would’ve lost him a minimum of 3 swing states in 2016. Which is why they committed the crimes in the first place. Disclosure of the stormy Daniels saga would’ve cost him more than 2% of the time.

Of course, the Republicans are doing everything they can for damage control, hoping to chip away at that 2%, and bring that 2% back to their basic mantra that nothing in the entire scope of the universe ever actually matters. But that is going to be extremely hard to do with 57 other felony counts in his other three indictments looming over him. Is going to be extremely difficult to do when his sentencing hearing is two days before the republican national convention. It is going to be extremely difficult to do now that “Convicted Felon” is now officially part of Donald Trump’s name.

It’s amazing to me that Republicans and Trump supporters are not claiming Trump’s innocence but are instead complaining about the justice system.

We're complaining about a weaponized justice system that is convicting innocent people like Trump. Authoritarian leftists in the professional credentialed managerial class are begging to be executed at this point. Remember Anders Breivik?

You might think he's innocent but 12 jurors including some handpicked by Trump's team does not. I also need to mention that one of those jurors only gets their news from Truth Social and even they couldn't ignore the evidence.

So the defendants in the Soviet show trials of the 1930s were represented by independent attorneys and their convictions were the result of deliberations by juries of ordinary citizens in which the defendants' attorneys had the right to challenge those jurors. I never knew that. I guess one learns something new every day. By the way, I would wager that there is a good chance (40 to 50%) that Trump's conviction will be reversed on appeal given the prosecution's novel theory of the case. I never knew that any of the defendants in the Soviet show trials had the benefits of appeals. I always thought that virtually all of them ended up imprisoned in the Gulag if they were lucky. Those that weren't so lucky were executed in short order. I am willing to wager that Trump will never do any time behind bars. The worst that can happen to him will be home confinement at Trump Tower where he will live under conditions better than 99.999% of his fellow Americans.

Anders Breivik was the Norwegian mass murderer? What does he have to do with Trump?
