Sure sounds like a good hire.
CBN came to UF with a group of coaches who were loyal to him and he had work connections with. He learned pretty quickly that he needed to upgrade the on the field staff and IMO he is doing it in impressive fashion. Starting with Billy Gonzalez he has brought in Roberts, Chatman, Harris and now Rasool and they all look mighty good on paper.
Don’t know why Corey Raymond and the defensive line coach soured but, glad they’re gone.

I think this makes three hires with Special Teams experience. Shoring up a weakness.

Which is understandable. When you venture out on your own or take on a different job with a different company you try to surround yourself with people you are familiar with. Some work out, some don’t, as long as you pivot and course correct… which BN did. For those that think what Billie did was some sort of outlier, are either trolls or not very smart.

Regrettably the case of Special Teams under Billy has become a focus of fan concern and, let's admit it, fan ridicule.

Billy has been a wee bit defensive about it
and Billy, unfortunately for him, happens to
Be coaching in the Ally Peek podcast era. Lol.
I love Ally, and she knows her sh$t.

I think she rubbed Billy wrong a little bit on that subject.

Good because we have so many DBs on roster. Would he be on-field or analyst?

Does anyone know what his role will be? If he is going to be an on field special teams coach all I say is thank you.

Appears to be an off-field coach.

He'll be an Analyst. Although I think rules may be about to change to allow analysts on field and/or more on field coaches. If so expect lots of hires across the country.

One positive out of this is that as soon as the rules changed to allow more analysts, BN in took advantage of it with a hire that addresses two areas of need.

Yeah, those guys are all over the sideline. There isn't a QB huddle without Ryan O'Hara right in the middle going over stuff with the guys. I think the only limit was they can't be on the headphones

I looked into this last year, and don't remember any reason why they can't be on the headsets either. We're only allowed a certain amount of them in total, and there's rules on how they're split up, players are only allowed use of a certain amount, etc. I didn't see where any staff was excluded.

*20 in total, 4 for players, 15 for head coach, assistant coaches, and grad assistants, 1 remaining can be used for support staff. So I guess only 1 is allowed to be used by an analyst. Wonder if that is any more heavily enforced than them not being allowed to coach. Like you said, they're all over the sidelines, and they're obviously involved in the "coaching".
