All I know of Ray came from this site. From that I know he was a man of God, a great family man and friend to all that knew him. And of course, a great Gator.
    RIP Ray.

When I was there on Thursday Ray's brother told me Ray had told him last week that he looked forward to walking with Jesus

Here's the song that will be played when I leave this Earth. My wife sang it at my dads funeral as well. Thanks to Chris Tomlin for a great song and here's to Ray one last time.

    Lyrics

    There's a peace I've come to know
Though my heart and flesh may fail
There's an anchor for my soul
I can say "It is well"
    Jesus has overcome
    And the grave is overwhelmed
    The victory is won
He is risen from the dead

And I will rise when He calls my name
No more sorrow, no more pain
I will rise on eagles' wings
Before my God fall on my knees
    And rise
    I will rise

    There's a day that's drawing near
When this darkness breaks to light
    And the shadows disappear
And my faith shall be my eyes
    Jesus has overcome
    And the grave is overwhelmed
    The victory is won
He is risen from the dead

And I will rise when He calls my name
No more sorrow, no more pain
I will rise on eagles' wings
Before my God fall on my knees
    And rise
    I will rise

And I hear the voice of many angels sing,
    "Worthy is the Lamb"
And I hear the cry of every longing heart,
    "Worthy is the Lamb"
And I hear the voice of many angels sing,
    "Worthy is the Lamb"
And I hear the cry of every longing heart,
    "Worthy is the Lamb"
And I will rise when He calls my name
No more sorrow, no more pain
I will rise on eagles' wings
Before my God fall on my knees
    And rise
    I will rise

When I first began to read Gator Country and follow the comments and conversation Ray was a constant contributor and great mod. My sincere condolences to his family and to everyone here on Gator Country. Ray, may you rest in peace.

A Florida Giant has left the board, this world, and his life to be at a better placed with his Lord and Savior. Hopefully they will smile down on the Gators for all eternity. Rest in deepest peace, Ray. You remain an icon to all of us...

A Gator Country legend has crossed over. It is with a mix of sadness and relief (free from suffering) that fills my heart.
As far as I know, Ray never had hard words for anyone. I wish I had gotten to know him on a personal level. I know the
management of Gator Country is heartbroken.

Thank you for many years Ray. Condolences to Friends, Family and Gator Country.

Thanks for posting the link, @g8orbill. I watched a good portion of the service. I know Ray only by his posts, but now I understand the universal love for the guy on this forum. The stories were touching. The impact he had on those around him was amazing. The fact that a Baskin-Robbins worker would get up and speak at his funeral was unbelievable. We should all strive to have the everyday positive impact Ray had on this world. I definitely shed some tears watching.
