Big West 2 at large locks IMO USCB obv & Irvine,,but no tourney(they do something crazy & reward for 2 months not a week) Dont think it matters who gets the auto bid.. UCSB 3 gm lead w/ 3 to play, but Irvine won h2h series. SunBelt is interesting.. I say only 3, but if they are considering 7th best team in Coastal,,who knows Random question. If a team is 6-0 vs Q1 are they rewarded for 100% winning %( I value % over amount) or punished for conference / geography which the have no control over? Great if teams play 30+ Q1 games due to conf.location,, but if under .500 it negates IMO. there will be good teams in tourney, not looking for ones that lose to them more than not IMO
It's subjective (members may see it differently), but there are no 6-0 teams. Closest thing might be ECU at 5-2 or Irvine at 4-1? The other issue with the Q groupings is that a win @ Tennessee is rewarded just as much as a home win against Vanderbilt. An away win @ Wofford is just as valuable as an away win @ Texas A&M. It was just hypothetical.. would you bet a 6-0 v Q1 or a 15-20 v Q1 to beat a Q1? Easy choice for me but I usually play the odds. If loses, bad luck not a bad pick.. For a real example..Nebraska(3-1 v Q1)or WVU (6-10) Id have both in due to being good in conference,, but Im told not right conferences for that..; And agree not all equal.. But Im talking about committee here,, you think they know that?? lol they get their spread sheets, and a combined 12 innings watched and have at it. Imagine if they were given no info/polls/etc and had to pick the T16,, think it would make a lick of sence?? zero chance.. LSU UF 1 -2 lol
Nebraska lost a neutral site game to Oklahoma, and won 3 games on the road against College of Charleston. West Virginia won a couple of series @ Oklahoma, @ TCU (2-1 each). Nebraska's best win this month came against Kansas State @ home. They're 1-1 this month against top 100 competition. West Virginia is 3-4 this month in Q1 games (RPI 37 and 53). I don't know anything about either of these teams, but based on results, I'd give an edge to West Virginia, if I had to. Go GATORS! ,WESGATORS
Ill buy that..but i bet its Neb if only 1 gets in. i guess my point is you always see amount of Q1 wins as a factor,, but never the loses.why?? And Ill never reward or penalize for geography/conf schedules when it comes to amount of Q1 etc games on schedule. ..Unless you have no excuse like a 140+ ooc sos... lsu & bama.. sec/acc/b12 teams can also afford to travel pre conf if need to for better teams.. Arkanas for ex learned this. On to Texas.. I mentioned them a few days ago.. Looks like a 2 seed lock per media kids & I agree surprisingly.. But 2 & Q in B12T now 46 RPI. I guess the cool logo TRUMPs their RPi.; 20-10 in conf. part does it for me.
Big fan of conference standings. I think tied for 7th in the SEC should be good enough. Go GATORS! ,WESGATORS
If also in top 50ish rpi the yes its atop my list(as far as bubble teams). I use rpi to group the teams for the spot(s) Im trying to select. fox ex.. 35 & 45 pretty much same group to me. I dont use rpi to make the selection. If I have a 35 rpi & and a 50 rpi as last 2 to chose from, then yeah the better conf record regardless of conference is probably going to win. Why are we playing 30 of 56 conf games otherwise? If conferences are so uneven that well under 500 is better than well over. Probably need to even up the conferences. And or reduce the amount of.
Another random(off topic) question.. Why is the b****h bag..(as my son called it) green?? And if rounding 1st for a double do I have to touch white or green? Does it count if fielder touches green??/ Ok multiple questions....lol Sorry if they mentioned all this.. I cant listen to these secn clowns(except Walker)so always muted I dont recall batters running to 1B being an issue until very recently,,So obviously another rule change caused it. Maybe goback to original rule?? just a thought No green bags in MLB & cant recall last issue ..but???
What is a double first base? SEC Tournament experimenting with new rule Some of your questions may be answered here. Go GATORS! ,WESGATORS
thx,,and dumbest thing ive read in a while. We'll be using yellow balls soon and still not sure why green..lol(other than sec said so) should be pink if anything
ECU lost to Witchita St. No 12 run 8th to save them today. I never had as host but probably hurts that chance if dont come back and win it.. Good for Miss St, who Ive had hosting for 3 weeks.
I thought it was specifically put in for the Ky hitter that used so much sticky glue spray that he couldn’t get the bat out of his hands as he ran to first. It gave him and his bat safe passage.
I can truthfully say that in all my years at the ballpark I had never seen that happen—until I did…..
No me either.. Ive seen a couple divas in MLB purposely carry bat to 1B on fly out or something, trying to 'be cool'.. About the closest thing..
Based on history/current logic used, wouldnt a SEC w/ 48 RPI be much more deserving than a B12 w/ 47 RPI?
