In his podcast Cole Cubic twice made mention of 1) “turds” and 2) “shitheads” being gone from our team. I wonder if T.E. is one of those departures he references. I also wonder if T.E. was corrupted by his brother and other family members. Maybe it’s actually a good thing he’s gone. Think it’s possible he was encouraged to leave, and maybe that’s why he picked UGa - to spite us for being pushed out? I mean, the only reason Coach would want him gone is attitude, right?
Played on a team last year that went 7-4 (4th best in their district), and lost 35-7 in the 1st round of the playoffs. A soph on Gasper's team (Tanner West), got 33 less carries than Gasper for the season last year, yet despite that only finished with 79 less yards. The run versus the pass ratio on the Jordan team last year was just about 50/50, but as a team Jordan averaged 4.5 yards per carry (Gasper averaged 4.9), while the passing attack averaged about 18 yards per completed pass. This was obviously a team that flourised via the pass rather than the run. It looks like Gasper missed some games last year (3 games), Im going to assume it was due to a injury? There were several games Gasper failed to even average 4 yards a carry, that 1st round playoff loss last year he only averaged .8 yards per carry on 9 total carries. This appears to be a pickup, thats based on what evaluators see in as far as projections rather than actual stellar production.
It's not often that SEC teams offer a rb with 4.9 average in high school. We shall see. Of course, our staff was originally looking at Baugh for LB, so who knows.
His highlights do look like a strong runner with good vision, breaking tackles. This was obviously not a run first high school team.
RB evaluation is a strength of this staff. He’ll be a good fit regardless of where he falls on the depth chart.
Hightop Sports discussed this particular topic with Nick de la Torre. Their educated guesses was that it was in reference to a OL, DE and LB all of whom just happen to be from Texas in particular and haven't had anything good to say about UF since they left. The most glaring one was the OL who at one point was going to transfer last spring and changed his mind. The reasoning Hightop gave was the reaction from staff in which very little was made about their departures. ETN, on the hand, there was a lot of chatter about the staff trying to find a way to get him to stay, work things out. So, not conclusive, but a reasonable conclusion based on the limited info available.
