It will be interesting to see how FSU does this season. Clearly Norvell has demonstrated skill in selecting transfer kids to play in his system. How the emphasis in building through the portal vs "ground up" vis a vie recruiting HS kids will be interesting to see. Having posted that, FSU is now making waves the more traditional way as demonstrated by their recent H.S. recruiting success. Will the Norvell approach "fall back" while Napiers traditional approach move ahead? The concern on the UF end of course is Norvell a brilliant hire? Or did he just have the right conditions to go 23-4 the last 2 years? We shall see.
Unfortunately, quite a bit of that 23-4 comes down to playing an ACC schedule vs SEC schedule. See 63-3. it will be interesting to see how it plays out. Sounds like HS talent @ FSU is starting to be concerned that waiting for a starter position when a transfer guy can take their spot at the drop of a dime.
You have to have both but I would emphasize the ground up like Napier is doing and then add in the missing pieces as players fall out and shortages arise in certain positions. Some player positions are cyclical and are not abundant every single year, so we might have holes to fill. Other times the right guy might come available and we could do an upgrade or add-on for depth. Either way... the best way is still group up, IMHO.
Did RB Chad Gasper commit to UF? Read some rumblings but I’ve never heard of him so asking those who know.
Multiple services are reporting this. He is 3/4* depending on the website. I trust these coaches when it comes to identifying RB talent. They’ve pulled some studs.
Lagonza Hayward , safety will announce July 27th, his birthday. Vols, UF, UGa , noles are at the top. UT trending but it has went back and forth so we shall see. He doesnt even know yet.
Looks like UF is done at TE and RB. UF also recieved a CB for Montgomery a day or two ago. He, Moore and Brown would be an excellent WR class and it could happen.
