Ongoing UF Softball Commentary

It's a national tournament, not an sec tournament. It's based on your entire body of work, not just your conference record.

 

Students currently protesting at UCLA and Columbia. Time for Diamond Gators to march on KSP and demand a change in the national tournament selection process.

Erickson and Otis in the top 26 finalist for National Player of the Year. Not sure how Reagen is left out when she's between the 2 in BA and better power numbers. Yet the 4 seniors form OU are finalist and none of their numbers are overall better. Brito is ahead of Walsh in BA at .413 compare to Walshs .405 which is tied with Coleman. And again... Walshs power numbers are much better. I hope she gets some kind of recognition in the SEC at least.

 

It will fun to watch the SEC tournament with it being relevant. I remember back when we rested Barnhill given that we were clearly a top-8 lock.

 

Any insights on why the sudden increase in home runs given up? Are they missing the mark, or maybe the wrong call at the wrong moment, maybe good film work by opponents predicting our pitch or just getting a little tired after a long freshman season? IT just seems like alot of early game bombs that were avoided during the first 75% of the season.

Do we not know how to run a player down. Second tine our catcher has thrown the ball to quick and now did not throw the ball at all.

 

3 errors in one inning is really BAD!!!!!

Well in spite of any mistakes, our team hung in there, and kept fighting...and won! Love beating them

Gators have given up 20 runs in the last two games and won both. Unbelievable. Pitching has to improve if they want to go anywhere in post season.

I'm thinking she didn't have a good grip on the ball and didn't want to risk throwing it away.... Erickson is too good not to make thst play.

 

Pitchers shouldn't have been responsible for some of those runs in both games..... UGA should have scored in the 7 th and then FSU Las knight. Pitchers did their job when it counted and defense let them down contributing to the runns making them get 6 outs in an inning.
