Such bullcrap. I wouldn't say this if you were referring to another poster, but imo you have no business talking to aka this way.

Interesting coincidence. My son had a seizure during a math class at IIT and was delivered by ambulance to Mercy hospital. Was not impressed with that place. Glad he didn't have to be admitted.

Well, that optimism swung back pretty far in the wrong direction. Shoot.

I heard on a podcast today that he broke his leg bone in half, which I had not heard before.

A bit surprising honestly. Paul George was out for 8 months with a similarly gruesome leg fracture. I thought we’d see Micah back close to SEC play.

The way TFG was building the roster seems he was preparing for this.

The Louisville dude who snapped his leg made it back initially, but then redshirted.

I think for a big guy it would be riskier to push it. To flat out say redshirting is surprising, but doesn’t mean any issues. It could just be the reality of the timetable.

Well, yes, that's why it came through the skin.

Yep, I was hoping Micah would be ready to go, and he probably can in a limited role, so I guess all parties are thinking it's best to sit a year out.

Thats generally what happens when bone pokes through the skin. Small fractures arent going to do that. It takes a complete break. The blood all over his leg was the giveaway.

I figured it would be another one of those “back by January” scenarios. If the bone heals up, nothing unrealistic. Although the problem is I’m sure he’ll be walking around and allowed to do light stuff long before being cleared for full go. Plus if he has hardware in the leg who knows… presumably it has to stay in there. For a 7’ they probably want to be extra cautious. Lot of extra strain compared to a normal person or even a basketball player that plays something other than C.

I think it's the best call, especially with our work in the portal. Nothing wrong with him just getting stronger & he'll still practice against a strong group.
It's also like we'll be getting a new transfer player for the 2025 season who knows the system really well!

Think we're going after another big man or two before the portal closes.

Saying that he could redshirt is likely to not put expectations on him. I read the injury was not as severe as first thought. Leg is stable due to rod in place. Bone has to heal and scar tissue has to develop in the right places. It’s possible that there might be a need for some future minor surgery to trim excess scar tissue which could set him back a bit. Better to have lower expectations for return to play and hope for a best case scenario that would likely have him in playing shape for the beginning of the season or shortly thereafter.
