None I believe but he’s played elsewhere. Webb has a bit of experience and we need to keep them both. The freshmen however look good.
So we keep Webb and let Jackson walk. We have two studs this year and are looking at bringing in 2 more this year. We are fine at RB, we need help elsewhere
If any leave, he’s the one you don’t mind losing. Need 5 though. A couple of injuries and it gets sketchy quick.
KD Daniels was the least productive in the spring game. He looked physically not ready compared to the other 4 backs. 5-11 196. Played quarterback for a running offense through his junior season running out of the shot gun and his senior season a little from RB as well as QB. I believe he is going to redshirt to develop physically and learn to catch the ball out of the backfield. Jackson and Baugh looked great in the spring game totaling 70+ yards rushing each. Webb was great as a receiver in the spring game too. And of course Johnson the starter. 4 RBs and 1 redshirt RB. Look other places for transfers. Look at the spring roster and sort by position. You will find a couple Senior/Juniors that have not played much. Mostly on D and backup OL
While Daniels didn't have a great spring game, he has had a great spring training. And I would disagree with what you said his roles were his Jr and Sr years. He threw 18 passes his JR year and only 1 single pass his senior season. But he rushed 203 times and 2,027 yards his Jr year and rushed 260 times for 2,484 his SR year. He was a RB back as an upper classmen and put up ridiculous numbers while he was doing it.
Look at his senior HS highlights.. he was a direct snap QB runner. Thank you for validating my point! He is 5-11 and 195 and can't catch out of the backfield and needs to develop physically because he can't compete with the other 5 RBs(forgot nobody mentioned Cam Carrol 5-10 227 Sr 4 year transfer from Temple who wants to play this year). Daniels will redshirt this season because he was a running QB in high school at 5-11. If you watch the film from his Junior and Senior seasons... The offense was 2 Tight Ends(7 on the offensive line), two or three TE/OL in the backfield instead of Running Backs or maybe 2 OLs/TEs in the backfield and 1 WR split to the sideline, and a direct snap to KD Daniels. Every play!!! ... Every Play!!... This the same Direct Snap Double Wing offense that is run in youth football!!?? Every play!!! That's why there was only 1 pass play... There are many plays on that film where I would get 4 or 5 yards a carry!! There are sooo many plays where he was not even touched until he was 10 yards down the field. I see him as a Trevor Ettiene type of back but not until he matures physically and learns to catch out of the backfield. He will not play this year. Or Maybe a couple plays mop up appearances in his 4 games allowed. We have 4 5-10/6-0 Rbs that go around 215-230+ with speed and oh yeah forgot #5 Cam Carrol 5-10 227. Daniels is #6. If anyone would transfer in the RB room before Fall it may be Cam Carrol.
5 RBs if you count Carroll. He looked great in last year's spring game. I really like Webb and thought he was our 2nd best RB last year, after ETN.
Can we give the kid some time to find his place on the field? His film proves if he gets into space he's good.
He’s got four years. They didn’t recruit him to kick him through the portal. He may get a shirt this year though if we stay healthy in the rb room.
Do we have enough carries to get our top 3 or 4 running backs the ball? Johnson, Baugh and Webb and maybe even Cam if he's 100%, are for sure ball carriers right now. That's 4 ball carriers that can and maybe deserve to carry the ball next year. Cam's a red-shirt senior and this is it for him. Does he seek a better situation or does he stay and take a chance on meager carries?
I expect him to redshirt too, but without actually reading all that yiu wrote bc my purpose was not to argue any of your points except thatvof a guy rushes for 260 attempts but throws only 1 single pass attempt he is not a QB. He is a RB lining up where a QB should be in order to get the ball hiked. Don't think I heard anyone call Cadillac Williams or Ronnie Brown a QB just because they were operating out of the Wildcat formation, but they were highly productive RB's who took a direct snap from shotgun and ran it down the defense throat.
Damn, the Trell Johnson disrespect is crazy lol kinda just poking fun with you, but the point still stands. Curious of what metric you used to determine Trell to be the 3rd best RB or worse? Stats? His stats are as good or better in most categories last 2 years. In 3 seasons He has never rushed for less than 810 yards, he was the best receiving back we had with 249 yards receiving on 30 receptions. He was the best blocking back we had. That alone puts him above Webb could arguably put him above ETN. But since i believe many rate ETN based alot on his "potential" or that he is a little faster. I also heard alot that ETN was our "home run hitter" , the one running for explosive plays. But when you look at the facts ETN had less explosive plays than Trell. ETN 3 longest runs all season. 30 yds, 32 yds, 62 yds Trell 3 longest runs 34.yds, 48yds, 52yds Those last 2 for Trell were both vs a top 5 teams and our biggest rivals as he broke off a 48 yarder vs. UGA and a 52 yarder vs. FSU.
Need to wait for the game to see if they can break tackles, avoid fumbles and stay injury free. Baugh needs to get on the field on year 2, whether at Rb or LB. Some of the analysts thought he was one of the better LBs in the last recruiting class. Just a major talent and football player that needs to see field. Imagine he will play a lot of special teams first year with his size, speed and tackling ability.
