it tells me the pollsters and the advertising venues that rely on the race being close don't reflect what I am seeing on the ground, even in a deeply red area. perhaps there is a financial incentive to keep djt prominent. it was all the free press for him that helped to propel him the first time as the press loved the ratings that his next outrageous statement/action would bring
the ability to respectfully disagree was lost when MAGA took over the pub party. It also coincides with our inability to properly govern ourselves through discussion and compromise and at least try and be somewhat factual (with prejudices) when our politicians speak. Now they just state outright lies knowing they are blatant lies because there seem to be no facts left with the crowd that wants to "do their own research" which consists of finding something on the net to to confirm their uninformed opinion. This loss of "facts", loss of enough self respect to not just outright fabricate chit, and inability to compromise will be the worst of what djt has given us.
I hope you're right. I don't know much about polls, if they even actually talk to people (no poll has ever asked me anything in my whole adult life, which covers 60 years), but I didn't know that pollsters manipulate their own polls that way, which would make them meaningless.
