Baseball at Mizzou, Sun 4/7, 2:00 pm EDT

Gotta start throwing him Friday. Friday is the tonesetter. Fridays have to mean something.

 

Reading this was quite the roller coaster. Thought we were gonna steal a win. Sad times.
Couldn't watch and I understand the frustration with some of the ABs but score 10 runs and you should win.

 

I guess his outing today would have really set the tone Friday night

 

Just looking back and over the last 7 series with Mizzou, UF was 20-1.
Since Mizzou joined the SEC, UF was 26-4 against them and had only lost one series to them in 2015, 2-1.

They were due. LOL

 

Cags could have just been over it based off teams performances previous 2 games. No excuse for it, but it could have resulted in the poor performance by him

 

And Colby Halter.

 

I think we are seeing an overall immature team that seems to play to its competition.

Who they are missing: Cannot help but think that they sorely miss the presence of a person like Wyatt Langford in the locker room and dugout.

They are about to see what genuine competition looks like in this upcoming "Murderers Row" of a schedule.

 

We were swept by Auburn in 2017.

 

Baseball America has the Gators dropping out of the top 25 this week. What a fall!

 

The 2017 team was 20-11 after 31 games and had tremendous pitching that year. Faedo, Singer, Kowar, Dyson, Horvath, Rubio, plus the best closer in UF history, Michael Byrne. Not even a close comparison between that team and the 2024 team, IMO.

 

Deservedly so, methinks. I've thought they have been ranked too high for a few weeks. However, there are a lot of games left to play and if they right the ship they can get right back in the conversation for a Regional host.

 

It’s not so much a comparison as a reality check. Even our best team had some bad losses. I don’t think anyone is saying this team is as good as the ‘17 team in any aspect of the game.

 

They knew they would get their opportunity eventually. I can't say that I blame them.

 

I was at two of the three games. Poor hitting, poor fielding, and overall poor baseball. We need a new second baseman. Plus our outfield gives up too many double on singles.

 

Did you notice how bad the balls were bouncing in warm-ups between innings?

I think the fake field had gone past the ok to use date. Things were happening with balls that shouldn't be happening especially the pb's and wp's.

The wind was also vicious!

 

D1 Softball dropped us from #6 to #24, #31 in the RPI rankings.
