I agree to a point. What we don't know is what skews the #'s? We signed the top-rated QB but were only 10th. Hypothetically did UF spend $10M overall but $5M of that went to one player? Perhaps FSU spent $9M and finished #5 but split that more evenly because they didn't sign a stud QB. Could the manner in how the funds are spread skew the results of the recruiting rankings? There is too much we don't know to conclude that the NIL offerings are an exact science that can be measured by the final recruiting rankings. In general, you are right, but hairs are most likely being split when you compare #'s 9 and 10 versus comparing #'s 1 and 20.

And a qb only counts for the same 5 star that a center maight get when it comes to ranking but we know it’s not an equal comparison.

Reading this article has effectively changed my mind.

The Ole Ball Coach was doing one of possibly many things. He may have been laying it down with the desire for immediate change by announcing it, or possibly laying down the challenge to Napier to prove him wrong (Napier proving Spurrier that is).

HAVE NO MISTAKE about it. There is no greater fan nor creator of anything Gator football than the HBC.

I didn’t think before it should have been spoken out loud as it could hurt recruiting. Again, rest assured this will be used against us to I don’t know what effect but maybe you have to cut some skin to do some brain surgery.

If left to the upper brash only, it would only leak rumors. SOS was actually putting out an actual SOS and Napier knows with no doubt that the Nation will always stand with Spurrier and who knows, perhaps he has been kicking and screaming and nothings is changing (like forever).

I swear I would give the keys to 77 year old Coach Spurrier right now so maybe it needed to be said, maybe everyone needs to hear it published in quotes so I reverse my keep it in house and I hear ya Coach, time to change or rebuild the ship! We have some players coming I’m excited about.

    Never give up. Go Gators!

Three years prior to Beamer: 13-22 (.371)
Three years with Beamer: 20-18 (.526)

    A difference of + 0.156 percentage points

Beamer improved the team about the same or better than SOS did his first three years there (21-16 (.568) versus 16-19 (.457), a difference of + 0.111 percentage points previously).

Simple..he inherited a worse situation than all those people and the payout to large. You fire him and DL portals out the next season. He will be the coach at the start of 2025.

Did you also notice where Washington was ranked? Here's a clue: they were ranked lower than us and turned their program into NC runners up. Not everything is explained with NIL!
I'm wondering where UF ranks with season ending injuries to key starting players? They seem to hit us every fall like love bugs!

I'd like to know who publishes those numbers. It's interesting information.

Even more interesting to me is where are the numbers being generated from. Personally, any such ranking is pretty much fantasy.

Isn't that the truth. I saw an NIL list that had us at 5th just a couple of days ago. But, the fact is, I don't think there is any public information requirement for these contracts. The players aren't state employees, and their outside NIL contracts don't have to be made public, just to the IRS at tax time. I bet only a small portion of the contracts are made common knowledge by the companies, for their own reasons.

Notice how the recruiting services put an "NIL" value next to committed players?
Unless they are getting their numbers under the freedom of information act, I am skeptical.

Yes, he should lie to everyone so the kids will attend UF and then bail after their freshman season. It’s not like they have brains and know when they’ve been conned.

I will never believe any number until things change and contracts are public.
