Just to make sure I understand you, various reputable organizations say that over 7 million people died from COVID-19 worldwide. You are saying that there was no COVID-19 virus. Am I understanding you correctly? If so, how have you reached your conclusion?
What type of idiocy is this. Guy literally never does anything for UF. That’s not “setting your own schedule”, it’s a no-show job! This type of arrangement would never happen without the political appointment. I’d argue the political position should have no affiliation with UF anyway. Usually people are “paid big dollars” because they have some ROI to the organization. If they do not justify their pay, whats the point of employing them? By all accounts Ladapo is a net negative to UF, and the fact his non-work is funded by taxpayers makes him a grifter - or as Mitt Romney would have labeled him, a taker.
I'd be embarrassed to make such a statement, but it's not a surprise. I doubt you read anything that doesn't confirm you were right to have made up your mind beforehand.
Because no one is always right, a well-read man admits when he's wrong. Methinks you've dug a wrong hole you're too embarrassed to get out of, so you just keep on digging. I promise to stop laughing if you'd only stop digging.
There's no defending Ladapo getting hundreds of thousands of dollars to be at (or more accurately, not be at) UF, but Q loves quacks.
Ladapo has brought plenty of recognition to UF. Now your side effects from the shots may be having an effect on your view of that recognition . But he is doing just fine. One of the leaders in public health that has been on the leading edge of guidance from the beginning of the covid nonsense.
I will admit all day long when I am wrong. There is no doubt these shots should have never been authorized for young healthy people as time has shown. I now think it can be argued they should have never been authorized for anyone. But I certainly would have recommended an unhealthy elderly person take the shot in the beginning. Don't be the 5% listening to a minority working with Big Pharma. That said...they appreciate you.
What benefit has he provided UF worth $250K per year? He was a fringe researcher who was hired for political reasons. Not a Nobel laureate , a leader in his field, who would bring renown to UF. Was any other institution pursuing him so ardently that the state needed to pay a huge sweetener to the deal? He was a hack with an MD still there behind his name. That’s it part and parcel.
Your bias will not allow you to see it. But he gives our University a big name and he has been leading on the right side of Covid from the beginning. I am not going to name personally some professors but there are a few in business alone that are paid very well and teach very little. Their name alone in the industry is worth the value UF is paying them. One would only be on campus for 3 months of the year if memory serves me correct. Made more than $250K from UF (he was brilliant btw)...
Well he certainly has shown how wrong so many were for taking the Covid shot. The embarrassment of not being able to deal with that reality is a problem for sure. So many cannot accept he was right...
Thanks for engaging me. Most of my disputants suffer from screeching cognitive dissonance and place me on ignore. My conclusion as to what occurred 2020ff was not a deadly pathogen but rather a panic-induced PCR-based pseudo-epidemic with massive reclassification of deaths. I have noted that virologists have never actually isolated the viruses that are at the heart of their discipline. But the point I’m making on this thread is that the excess deaths of 2020ff can easily be explained without reference to a virus. Hence, the article I posted that showed multitudes dying at home, presumably of treatable ailments, because they were afraid of going to the hospital and catching Covid. The panic was so magnified that people were literally more afraid of dying of Covid than they were of dying.
I just don’t get this line of reasoning. Trump is the one who authorized the crippling lockdowns and viewed himself as the Father of the Vaccine which he claims saved millions.
I knew a good many professors at UF and worked with them and their grad students - 9 of them that got degrees if memory serves. I am passingly familiar with what creates academic prestige. Academic researchers are judged on where they publish, how many times they publish, how frequently those works are cited by other scientists, their contributions to national committees or within their discipline, and especially the GRANT MONEY (UF gets a honking chunk of that right off the top) their work and reputation brings to UF. Can you provide a list of Lapado's publications I can go read in Science, JAMA, NEJM, the Journal of Virological Methods? Has he ever provided his expertise to the US Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases? Can you give me an estimate of the grant money he brought to UF. He promised to transfer the $600K grant from his last job to UF but did not do so. What grants has he brought? I'm afraid it is your bias that causes you to offer support to someone that would not qualify for and has not earned his position through merit.
The Guardian is pretty far left on most of the media bias rating charts which themselves usually lean left. It is not much right of the Daily Beast.
You seem to think his entire role at UF revolves around the position he took about the COVID shot? That’s… odd. Almost like you have a one track mind.
I don’t get the angst about Lapado. I’m not a fan of neck-cracking, but had Trump appointed a chiro rather than Fauci, in 2020, far fewer would have died.
While I think Lapado has stuck his neck out the current measles outbreak in Florida is small potatoes to the measles outbreaks that have been happening in western liberal lead states for years, curious where the vitriol was towards the State Surgeons General for the last decade? From 2019 when there were 1200 cases nationwide. Increase in Measles Cases — United States, January 1–April 26, 2019 But now Florida is “Swamped” with 10 cases.
