I mean, he didn’t care about playing the guy who brought the murder weapon to the crime scene. Why would he care about a player stomping and elbowing people?
Agree - I have an issue with it too. The bama players were just bulldozing our guys all game and they did on that play also. After that melee, they call that foul on Condon and that is complete and utter BS. Condon got kneed in the head and an elbowed in the head and they both looked intentional.
Are the NBA players that much better at defense? I can watch an NBA game and for the most part the refs do a decent job. I don't remember the last ncaa game where the refs were not terrible. I was only able to watch a few minutes of the first half (replay), but man Bama seems like a dirty team. With about 4min to go Aberdeen was body checked going over a screen by the player trying to get the ball. That should've been a charge.
Here is how I picture this going: Somewhere at a Golden Corral in Birmingham a phone rings: Dude in Birmingham: "Helluh who dis?" Stricklin: "Uh, this is Scott Stricklin, AD at Florida. " Dude: "Ya'll keep ot down now. I got that guy from Flawda on my flip phone! Ahem how may I assist you sir" Stricklin: "Um i wanted to talk about the elbow to the neck or one of my players and have the league look into that. " Dude: " Uh huh, and where did this take place? " Stricklin: "Tuscaloosa"..." Hey, am I interrupting something. You seem busy" Dude: " I mean just our daily 3 hour Go-din Co-ral an' Krispy Kreme lunch break." Stricklin: "at 9:30am?" Dude: "Yep"..."But hey, hold on. Dude: " Hey everyone, what should I tell flawda boy about the little touch foul in the game las' night? " A woman in a cutoff, sleeveless, Finebaum tshirt at the desert bar removes her cigarette from her mouth and yells over: "Tell him you'll look into it." Entire restaurant erupts into laughter Stricklin just hangs up.
You have to report this. This kid is a bad Apple. He was hacking all game hard. The Haugh video shows you a touch foul, when pg Sears was pushing people aside when he was trying to get open, not one call on him. They called this on Pullen. They didn’t review the foul on Condon because the home team was getting a foul on Florida every time down the court. There was an out of bounds play where three Alabama players were fighting for the ball as it was being bobbled along, of course no review, of course it’s the Gumps ball, this allowed them another possession to catch us. They should have to list on tv where these dishonest refs are from, an eye opener that would show bias towards the home team.
What a joke. If it was a Todd Golden player that did this, I would expect my coach to do the right thing, not "wait for the league" to do anything. Whose team is this? What institution do they represent? And I'd be bitterly disappointed if he didn't, regardless of wins, losses, titles, etc.
this. the ncaa either has beyond horrible refs or they're dirty. perhaps both. But you're right, you never see this kind of officiating in the NBA, the league and the players wouldn't allow it. Yet for some reason this type of inept and/or corrupt officiating is prevalent in college. Think how many elite 8 games of ours alone in the past 15 years were atrocious officiating. If the league actually suspends him for elbowing Condon, then that is the league saying it was an intentional flagrant foul. We should get our free throws, and the W.
do you have a video of him being knocked down to the floor? All the videos i've seen, as well as watching the game, he went down himself to get the ball.
This would have and should have been a flagrant foul, foul shot, the ball, and the center that threw the elbow kicked out of the game. Since they missed this, the game should be awarded to Florida. What say you SEC.
Their coach should speak up and tell the SEC, award Florida the win, and still punish the kid/thug. But last year he tried to say Brandon Miller didn’t know the gun was in the car, cover up, coverup, lie to get what you want. The Win. Wow, what a sleeze bag their coach is.
There are no more charges in College Basketball anymore. I don't know how a player is supposed to cover anyone when they just run them over or lower their shoulders into the defender. And don't get me started on coaches working the refs. Oats was "teaching" the refs how to make calls on the sideline.
I want Florida to win but come on, you know this isn't even a remote possibility... even if Nate Oats and University of Alabama asked the SEC to do it. I don't think this is even a thing you can do. Also, that missed call was in the 1st half and we still led most of the game.
Read (from gator country’s own Mr Fawcett) also that Golden did request a review of the play but the referees declined to review it. Jerks
Without their only decent big we would have run away with it. Don’t put it pass Alabama if we would have done that, they would have demanded the win.
That’s not how it works, dude. Even if they forfeit the win, it’s still a loss on our record books. They don’t retroactively award wins.
