Chicken marsala tonight with egg noodles. Tomorrow will be scallops that we bought at Cedar Key with spice oil and microgreens (cilantro and Italian parsley from our garden).
Thai take-out on Friday and yesterday we threw together a salad with a rotisserie chicken from Publix after going to the basketball game. Tonight I am grilling brats. Midwest tailgating food. We have some beers chilled in the fridge. We don't normally watch the Super Bowl but this one might be a fun one. Back in the old days we would go out for dinner during the game because nobody was going out to eat and there was no wait for a table. And then all the places we liked starting renting out their venues for Super Bowl parties and that fell apart.
Tonight is fried beef cubed steak and gravy, freshly steamed green cabbage, and white rice topped with Rotel tomatoes. A tumbler of Knob Creek small batch 100* for myself and chilled wine for Ms. Jan. Life is good in Gator Nation!
Tamale pie was a great hit. It is from The Joy of Cooking. It is 1950's comfort food at its finest like real mac and cheese and not Kraft.
Last night was a huge batch of clam chowder and company. We use both Yukon gold potatoes and celery root. Tonight I am grilling waygu beef burgers. Ground waygu was BOGO so it only cost about as much as ground chuck. Got to get the KJ started soon so that we can make first pitch.
Weekend off, so therapy food is needed …Sunday sauce, with turkey meatballs, sausage and braciole. Cesar salad & garlic bread on the side. Good win today on the hardwood. Go Gators!
Last night was arugula over pasta and Italian sausage. Tonight will be NY strip steaks on the KJ with baked potatoes and a romaine/escarole/tomato salad. The steaks will have a cream cheese, blue cheese, shallot, serrano and white wine vinegar topping at the end.
Tonight is stir fried pork tenderloin with broccoli, spicy cucumber salad (kind of an Asian fusion thing) and spicy rice with datil peppers.
Texas beef chili - con carne. 2.5 lbs of cubed chuck, with the chili paste, onions & peppers. Been simmering for close to 3 ours. Corn tortillas & some homemade salsa on the side.
Tonight we’re having crunchy beef taco casserole topped with Sargento Tex-Mex cheese. Black bean & Garlic tortillas chips on the side. Dos Equis Lager and chilled wine as desired around the meal. Life is good in Gator Nation!
Tonight we’re having breakfast for supper. It’ll be fried center cut ham, eggs, grits, and biscuits. They came and picked up our Pod this morning as it heads out to Ga. Life is good in Gator Nation!
