If that's how you feel about it so be it. But understand that there's a lot of us here who want nothing to do with the UN/EU. As far as I'm concerned the U.S. should be pulling out of the UN as we speak for its crimes against humanity.

If you want to be under the UN/EU so badly perhaps another country is more appropriate for you. But understand that many of us would rather have Trump than the UN/EU telling us how to live our lives. I would almost rather die than be under the thumb of the UN/EU.

People on here always say Trump is a would-be dictator but never explain how he would do that. Trump already had 4 years to be a would-be dictator. As you said COVID was tailor made as an opportunity to seize emergency powers. If Trump was half as powerful as some of you here think he could've easily just suspended the 2020 election indefinitely under the COVID emergency was completely over (which it never would be under a tru dictator). But he didn't did he?

Please tell us specifically what you think he's going to do (that he could actually accomplish, not just unrealistic fantasies) that makes him a would-be dictator? What policies is he planning to put in place? What constitutional right is he planning to overthrow?

As we've seen here before, everyone just talks about how Trump is a dictator but they are always light on the actual specifics.

Sorry but there's nothing patriotic about what you said. You're the one who wants us to stop being the U.S. and just be a puppet of the UN/EU. You're the one who wants the U.S. to be just like Europe. I have more patriotism for the U.S. in one finger than you would have in your entire body.

Your side is always the same. Europe is so much more refined (they might being some ways but not as much as you think). Europe is so much less racist (absolutely not, there is significantly worse racism in parts of Europe than here). Europe is so much more evolved (they aren't).

I like Europe. I've been to most of western Europe and some parts of Eastern Europe. But in my opinion the U.S. is still far superior to the vast majority of European countries. I've enjoyed visiting Europe but I wouldn't want to live there. The only places that would be tempting would be Italy and Portugal. France to me was one and done, rude people, terribly overrated and dirty. I thought Spain was overrated. Germany and Switzerland were nice but too cold in the winter and I wouldn't want to live in either. England and Ireland are nice and I loved the historic buildings and castles, especially in Scotland, but it's too rainy and the food is mediocre.

So if you think Europe is superior to the U.S. that's fine. If you like Europe better that's fine, move there. But some of us still think the U.S. is better so don't be surprised when we fight people like who just want to make the U.S. like Europe. You want the U.S. to be like Europe so much than I would say move there. Be where you will be happy because clearly that's not going to be the U.S. And wanting the U.S. to be like Europe is anything but patriotic.

Air Force thank you very much. Not as a pilot but as an Officer. Stationed at the Air Force Academy, Edwards and Nellis. My dad was also in the Air Force during Vietnam.

    Now let's hear your qualifications.

Nope. In fact I was in for many years post college. The only reason I left was I was tired of moving every 3 years and wanted to be closer to family. Luckily my last assignment I was there for 4 years.

Care to give us your qualification. Or is it more likely you were the Section 8?

In the Old Testament, God chose a nation, Israel, to be his people. The early history of Israel, in the book of Judges is repetitive cycles of the Israelites rebelling against God, God allowing neighboring nations to invade/enslave them as punishment, and then freeing them after they repented. During those times, when Israel wasn't being rebellious they had personal liberties that were pretty much unknown at that point in human history. The book of Judges says, "In those days there was no king in Israel. Everyone did what was right in his own eyes." The reason they kept losing their liberties was because what they thought was right wasn't actually right. In the end, they willingly gave up those liberties by asking for God to give them a king. That story is found in 1 Samuel Chapter 8.

Regarding COVID, I don't think such emergency powers exist at the Federal level but there were suggestions, mostly from those I would consider Trump opponents, that the Federal government needed to step in and centralize the response. This was during the two weeks to slow the spread phase. I believe it would've been relatively easy, at that point, for Trump to simply impose national lockdowns and become a defacto dictator. The strongest opposition to such action on Trump's part would likely have come from his MAGA Republican base. Of course, I also think that the military would've deposed, and replaced, him with someone more to their liking almost immediately. So, imo, we would've ended up with a dictator but it probably wouldn't have been Trump.

This is how you respond when you do not have an argument. Par for the course.

But you keep thinking trump is the fascist and not the media/pharma/etc…

Trump laid it all out on Truth Social a couple weekends back. Basically, he plans to replace all levels of government with cronies and crush law enforcement mechanisms that could stop him. He would criminalize political opposition to him just like his favorite country, North Korea.

He couldn't do everything he wanted his last term due to all the guardrails of democracy. He plans to have lackeys take sledgehammers to those guardrails.

I’ve read the post, and I applaud (and I’m a bit jealous) of your travels. But I think you miss the point about our alliance with Western Europe. It’s not because we like their food, or castles, or vistas, or chocolates, it’s the concept of an alignment of values. We share the concept of freedom- freedom from oppression, freedom to learn, freedom to express, and opportunity for our children to rise above their birthright.

Those are the values we fight for, against all else. And as we have seen, too many times throughout history, we need such hard and steadfast allies to confront and protect against aggression to our values, because when we have weakness in our lines, we lose. History prepares us for what is to come. We cannot ignore its lessons.

I can't speak for OMB nor his supporters.

But perhaps they are basing their convictions not on 2020, when CV19 had an effect on the election*, but on the 2016 win, when things were more normal.

This is only speculation on my part....who knows how others think.......

*How Much Did COVID-19 Affect The 2020 Election?

Sure Covid impacted the 2020 election. But I think Trump’s Twitter thumbs had the biggest impact of all.
