Seems to be a lot of citizen militia types and others flocking to Texas for their dream of open conflict with the federal government. Armed resistance is promised by some. Trucker convoy already there with more action planned for Feb 3rd. Biden gave Abbott until yesterday to remove the razor wire from the banks of the Rio Grande and elsewhere- didn’t happen. National Guard troops from some Republican states are being sent to support TX. Things are escalating
They are making up all this crap and at the same time stopping a bill in congress that would actually help immigration.
I don’t envy the federal government here. You back down and you empower other states to ignore you. You uphold the law of the land and you could accidentally start an armed conflict with your own citizens. What is extra ridiculous is all this could be put to rest of the senate just puts hr2 on Biden’s desk.
You're absolutely correct about the dilemma of the federal government. But doesn't that they'll have to get through the House, or am I confusing bills?
It's great to see patriots wanting to protect our country. I'm sure there's a few that would fit your very broad description. This wouldn't be happening if Biden did his job.
Let's be clear, the details on the Senate compromise is a terrible bill that will set immigration law back in a major way and breaks just about every promise Biden made on border policy. HR2 is much, much worse than the Senate compromise. Anybody who is willing to trade our humanity for cynical politics needs to reconsider their approach. The federal government needs to stand up. Bigoted assholes did this in the 1950s and 1960s with integration and civil rights. They'll eventually back down again, just as they did then.
What is ridiculous is that the pub potus candidate is once again encouraging open rebellion against the law solely to further his own interest. The military should enforce federal law just like they had to with segregation
You are correct. This is what I was referring to Johnson warns Senate that border deal will be ‘dead on arrival’ in House Johnson warns Senate that border deal will be ‘dead on arrival’ in House - Tampa Bay Times
I mean I totally hear what you are saying but that was then and this is now. Sometimes you have to take a step back and you don’t get what you want. I don’t see a clear path forward for admin here that allows us to keep doing all the things we want to do.
