The hoodie fielded a lousy roster at the end, and that’s why he’s no longer there. I wouldn’t want BOB as my HC. He’s an elite play caller with a ton of experience though. Nor is he a 29yo newbie from a low rung conference. The big play here is that Ryan Day, who’s considered a top flight OC/play caller, is giving that up, to focus more on the entire team.

“The move comes with a potential shift within the OSU program, as coach Ryan Day has spent part of this off-season exploring bringing in an experienced coordinator that would allow him to give up play calling duties, per ESPN sources.”

“O’Brien has coached Bryce Young (Alabama) and both Tom Brady and Deshaun Watson during some of their best seasons. Young won the Heisman Trophy in 2021 under O'Brien, and Alabama finished in the Top 10 in both of O’Brien’s seasons as OC averaging 39.9 and 41.1 points per game.”

Buckeyes hire O'Brien as offensive coordinator

I'd guess Michigan promotes from within, they need guys who are familiar with their cheating and sign stealing system.

A smart move by the Michigan AD. Moore only gets a 5yr deal that starts at $5.5mil per. Giving out 7yr $51+mil first contract deals is just plain foolish.
