WHAT Will/Needs TO HAPPEN IN YEAR THREE!

That’s the debate, isn’t it? Where are we? We really need to be at least headed south and have evidence that we’re headed south (e.g. road signs that say “Tampa 50”) by the end of this season. If we get to “Welcome to Georgia” after all of the fair warnings, then, yeah, it’s time to pull over and change drivers.

Most of us are actually in another car spectating, and have little control over where that one is going. We’re free to exit and find something else to spectate at any time.

At that point you're already 3 years (uh... I mean hours) in the wrong direction with what is now 7 hours left on what used to be a 4 hour trip. Bingo. We aren't even in the car, we are Marty McFly'ing it, just holding on. Some have already let go, others will hold on until the car goes into the drink or makes it to the promised land.

 

Promised Land? Bro, all I’m asking for is a winning season for the first time in four years. If that’s unrealistic expectations as a fan, then things are worse than I thought. And I thought things were pretty bad.

 

OTOH you can’t expect fans to throw money without any results. It’s why a 5 year plan (which is always stupid) is hilariously stupid in 2024. You rely on NIL dollars….you need excitement and results to maintain the flow of NIL dollars.

 

Napiers problem is not a 5 year plan. His staff on D let him down. With a stifling D this team would have been a contender in the conference. Most 2nd year turnarounds come on D.

He hires the D coaches and he is involved in recruiting the players including on the D side. He is ultimately responsible for the success or failures.

The Athletic predicts the Gators will go 5-7, 2-6 in the SEC. Personally, I think that's optimistic, but would love to be wrong.
