Hopefully after a 8-9 win season this year people won’t be able to take those shots anymore.

I have my reservations about Napier and his potential for success here but it's a garbage take considering the discrepancy in experience between those coaches. Also, the portal may facilitate turn around faster than it used to be possible but it's a two way street as we are now seeing. Napier is having to cut his teeth during unprecedented changes to college football.

Sarkisian has been hot and cold in his coaching career over several years. Same with kiffin. Kirby smart lost to a jim maclwein lead Gator team that couldn't throw a forward pass when he got to Georgia with a better team than Napier was given.

The guy is a work in progress. Maybe that shouldn't be the case at the university of Florida but it is. Time will tell if he "grows up" or not but comparing 2 years in to coaches with nearly 10 or more is a cheap shot.

Edit to add UW coach looks nice. Hope he stays put out west. He has coached at much lower levels for a while but has gaudy win numbers. Seems to be that guy that just wins although people thought that about Hawkins and harsin as well before they bombed elsewhere.

This is the first 3 year period at Bama where Saban has not won national championships. Is Father Time catching up with Nick like it did with Bowden and Paterno? Still recruiting well, appears to relate to kids, but have NIL and the portal negated Bama’s prior advantages? Saban still performed similarly to Sark this year and beat Kirby. Had lead versus Michigan in 4th quarter and Michigan needed a late TD to tie the score. Lane is still a notch below. Billy obviously is not at that level yet. Hopefully he can be but not looking good thus far

Napier inherited a reeaaaalllyyyy bad situation and he accepted the challenge, he doesn't sit on his hands keeping underperforming AC's. If he does fail I agree with other posters it wasn't for lack of trying.

Also Candy literally made a post saying recruits are instructed to read Gator boards, etc and our own base laughs at stuff like this. It's getting real trying seeing our own fans bash our HC harder than our rivals.

    Thank you PD!!

The second paragraph should separate Gators from trolls!!!

In 92 when we lost the first SEC title game in cold miserable weather....
Gators left that dumpy Legion field chanting it's Great to be a Florida Gator!! I was one of them...

Stop trashing the program and be apart of the turn around peeps!!

    Go Gators

Exactly, I personally think 2024 will be a better year than expected. If the new S&C coach is as good as advertised plus all that experience our young guys got it should bode well. Maybe the injury bug won't be as nasty as it was either. I don't think we're as bad off as the record this year stated.

I agree with almost all of this. I have to say that Napier could have done himself a lot of good by ditching the conservative approach at times. Tennessee was actually a red flag game for me regarding that issue.

On the one hand, conservative slow offense probably was out of necessity given a defense that couldn't get off the field and an offensive line with no margin for error but some of the game management decisions did himself in. That's the big correction I'm waiting to see.

On the other hand, some of the plays to win games were there to be made and the players whiffed. Princeley missing a dead to rights talking to end the game against Arkansas and Etienne running out of bounds. I'm not completely sorry to see some of them go.

Constructive criticism Keeps the board interesting. The personal insults to Napiers intelligence and the overall program while our own fans slobber other coaches and programs with praise can't be ignored in today's landscape though. Before it was just a few message boards and fans didn't make a difference. Today it's twitter pages, troll pages, forums, recruiting pages, etc. The attacks add up and create a perception that becomes a pseudo reality. Its ugly and that meme is a prime example.

I agree 100% on his play calling & his possible thinking. It would be nice to hear why he called games & the situations he made certain calls. UT was tough, but wasn't EW3 hurt? That no doubt had a spot in the book, but yeah conservative play calling is NOT in our DNA. lol

And agree on the transfer outs, it definitely looks like ETN's family tampered and it affected his mindset the rest of the season. Princely stayed toxic on Twitter & wasn't a team player according to the podcasts available, so they can be toxic elsewhere!

And constructive criticism is needed in every walk of life! It's really heartbreaking and exhausting how segments of this fanbase takes it above and beyond. Twitter is the most toxic site ever, I had to get off because even just sports talk got so out of hand it can't be put into words. And the Facebook groups are insane, 90% of the comments are trashing CBN and our players. Absolutely no moderation to those groups weeding out those clowns. That's seriously why I stick to this board, too many good posters to stay away too long.

I think playing conservative is part of the chicken salad recipe.
