The big buyouts are what guarantee their time. I don’t think anyone is truly guaranteed 5 years, but their buyouts may all but insure them that much time barring some type of scandal. As the buyouts shrink over time, if you’re not performing, then the big money folks may start weighing their options and just how much it’s worth to them to move on. The guys funding all this stuff for us want to win and want to see improvement. If they don’t see a path to either, they will make the moves. They always do.
was really happy to get Scooby out of HS and had high hopes for his development. The light just never seemed to come on at UF. Wish him well with a change in environment. The portal LBs we got last year did not end up contributing much. We need more than JAG this year if we get another one.
You just can't keep losing guys who have contributed. They get better a lot of times. We are just in a bad spot.
He was not a natural linebacker. I suspect he knew he was getting passed over or would move to edge and start at the bottom as rush end. 8 backers left on ship and pretty sure one from the portal who will most liky start
Amazing how many people are crying about him leaving but totally ignore this very information on his grades.
Sadly he contributed very poor quality football. CFB has turned into a cut throat business, he can continue at a different university that may better match his style.
Then why the hell was he starting? We just assume everyone on the bench is better? Freshman automatically better?
Have you read through the posts, he lost his starting job & was graded as the worst tackler on the team. What do you think Saban, Kirby, Dabo, Day, etc do with underperforming players....?
He did not play well. That leaves two options. The first is that he plays WAY better than he's shown thusfar which is possible but seems unlikely. The other is that he's replaced. Option 2 was chosen. This isn't that hard.
Following his coach to TAM. I’m told Bateman, Chaos and Raymond did not think highly of our young DC’s system. Elko is a defensive minded HC, so brings his own experience to the D at TAM. Interesting both Scooby and Hill landed there.
