Choose your criteria that works for you. 1. Urban 2. SOS 3. DM 4. RZ 5. WM 6. JM 7. BN DM really couldve won it all if he wasnt so stubborn and liked recruiting.
I see what you’re trying to do, but it’s still too early to rank BN. Let’s see how this next season goes and if he’s learned anything from the first two seasons. I also don’t see how you assess Muschamp over McElwain. Bad as McElwain was in his third year, he was still better than Muschamp. If Will Grier hadn’t been caught taking Extendze, or whatever “male enhancement” supplement it was, and then been too embarrassed to admit it (like we weren’t going to find out), then I think McElwain’s career at Florida would have looked way different. There is no scenario, on the other hand, in which Muschamp would have succeeded. He was a complete clown who never should have been gifted a fourth season to fail.
"DM really could've won it all if he didn't have two of the worst possible traits a head coach can have" is quite the argument. Dumb thread is dumb
Agree to an extent. Except Spurrier was also arrogant and also hated recruiting. When you actually are the best Xs and Os guy in the business, you can get away with that. Mullen was just a good Xs and Os guy, not an exceptional one. He needed a serious kick in the ass when it came to recruiting. As far as I can tell, he never got it.
The recruiting and overall landscape of the sport was also completely different in the 90s. In this age, hating recruiting and refusing to make necessary changes are detrimental. The statement I responded to in the OP was just plain dumb
1. Spurrier 2. Spurrier 3. Spurrier 4. Spurrier 5. Spurrier 6. Spurrier 7. Spurrier 8. Spurrier 9. Spurrier 10. tie, Spurrier, Meyer 11. Everyone else
Pretty sure you aren't the posting police. Based on your posts in other threads it is obvious what you are trying to do, but I will play along: 1. Napier 2. Napier 3. Napier 4. Napier 5. Napier 6. Napier and since you arbitrarily stopped at 7 just to put Napier last... 7. Napier
I could go either way on that one. But you can’t argue with two national championships versus one. Urban — before he folded like a cheap suit — also did it in more competitive circumstances.
