So my friends kid drew the gators for his Rec hoops team, and is jersey #30.
He asked me who the best player to have worn that number. Anyone?

The media guide says these are our choices:
    Jacob Kurtz (2014-15)
    Kenny Kadji (2009-10)
    Clayton Bates (1993-96)
    Travis Schintzius (1990)
    Rodney Williams (1982-83)
    Tyrone Young (1981)
    Jerry Moore (1973-74)
    Ernest Lorenz (1971)
    Nick Fotiou (1968-70)
    Edd Poore (1964-67)
    Carlos Morrison (1962-63)
    John Eggleston (1953)

Kurtz and Clayton Bates are the only ones who show up in the media guide anything other than having been on the team. They were both SEC Academic Honor Roll and Koss Memorial Award recipients. Kurtz also made the SEC Good Works Team.

Since I know Rodney Williams personally and played some pickup ball with him, I'll give him the nod. 6'-7" forward, played for Stormin' Norman. Eventually transferred to Stetson to play for Glenn Wilkes, who wasn't insane and crooked.

Perhaps the best answer would be to say "Sometimes kid, the draw just doesn't go your way."

    From floridagators.com:
    • Saw his playing time increase dramatically his junior and senior seasons, ultimately becoming the most accomplished walk-on of the Donovan Era and arguably in Florida basketball history.
    Not bad.

We are talking about Travis and not Dwayne RIP right? Weren't they brothers, I can't recall? There are so many people in the world with the last name of Schintsplints. And was Travis here more than a year or two? Dwayne did like his Sonny's BBQ. Most unfavorable memory of seeing Dwayne on campus was asking him "How's the weather up there?". A few of you here will remember that one.

I taught him and the "Norwegian Collegian" some engineering classes. AD started out as an engineering student but after it became clear he had a legit shot at an NBA career he switched colleges. Smart move.

I wanted to be an engineer also so naturally after looking at my academic progress, Admin told me about the Waldo Train Depot down the hi-way.

I grew up with Ernest Lorenz - great guy who went on to become a Coach - he died way to young from ALS

I would second the choice of Rodney Williams.
