Well, we will never know. Because it was for Bama. Someone remind me of Georgia’s current winning streak again. I used to hear it announced several times a day …

I prefer to not use the word "coach". I think it best to describe him as an elite person to evaluate talent and acquire it. After that, unless he has grown into the position and I haven't seen it, he has been blessed with 1) pure horsepower and 2) a damn nice college QB (eventually) in Bennett. After that, it is the NIL game and he has to find another elite QB. Let's call him a nouveau Mack Brown.

That too. I forgot about that, but he was annoyed by that and the free pass F$U and Bowden always got from the media on stuff like that. Media actually made Spurrier out to be the bad guy.

No way Kirby leaves. He’ll be making $12 million a year soon.

I agree, and I also don’t credit that’s the reason so many Georgia players are leaving. Even if Kirby had decided to go to Atlanta, he would not have shared that with his players yet. And if he had, there would be far more smoke on the subject.

Spurrier caught more grief from the media for throwing his visor than Bowden did for making light of his football players actions.

Georg just brought in 28 kids, that means they must create space. Most of those kids are pushed out.

Could be. I’m just arguing against the linkage of their leaving to Kirby’s intentions.

If Kirby left they probably wouldn’t have the number one class even after losing the top qb.

I had a friend in North Carolina that I told that Spurrier was much more an honest and open coach than Bowden had ever been, and had never been in trouble for anything. Meanwhile, Bobby had done all sorts of shenaigans, but he used that good ole boy, aw shucks shit, Bible thumped, and quoted scripture and the media ate it up and gave him a pass for everything. His response was, "It's all about perceptions." Spurrier didn't pull any punches and was honest and open and got excoriated for it.

Speaking of FSU one of their websites is running with the Kirby to the Falcons story. They must really pissed about losing Bolden.

Still have to clear off around 20 more before the season to make room for the class we just signed and allow for incoming portal transfers.

Seriously. This is about as dumb of a statement than the 3 million times Stoops was coming to FL. Why leave Paradise for an out house? And Atlanta too where he would be the only coach to be booed by his own fan base? At least pick a different NFL team in another state when making up crap like this. Georgia BTW, just landed the #1 class.
