We got a one for one at DE / edge for Princely U.

Now we got an OT.

 

The DE/DL we got may be good but he’s not Princely’s caliber. doesn’t mean he won’t help us a lot especially if he can slide inside some but this is not a one for one.

I do not see him starting over several guys already here on edge. More of a depth piece.

 

If he goes hard for two plays in a row, he's already better than Princely.

 

Put some linebackers behind our line and a real threat off the edge and our dline isn’t really a problem.

 

Grab Dumas Johnson from UGA to play LB, move Scooby to the edge and maybe we'll have something.

They all count. If you count the players who transfer out when a coach leaves as losses, you have to also count players that follow a coach in as gains.

 

yeah but they arent really portal transfers as the coach already had them. yes technically they come via the portal because that is the system. I would consider guys like Mertz true portal grabs as there was no existing relationship. But that's my opinion. You obviously are entitled to your own view and I respect that.

 

With the size of our 2024 class much smaller than anticipated and the need for Napier to win in 2024….i sure hope we get involved with and snag some of the big fish in the portal. Guys like an Evan Stewart and the Walter Nolan types. Most may want to go to a playoff type team. But we need to hit on some major upgrades and with fewer freshmen after decommits…should open up spots and NIL money that went unused. I hope we “tamper” our assess off for teams still playing in bowl games and get some premier talent to portal to Uf.

 

Any word on Mincey? Are we still working on him since he didn't sign yesterday?

 

He will announce at the all star game.

 

I'm sure his LOI is already in wherever he is going.
