Regulated structure...we're certainly not seeing that and the NCAA seems to have given up on that by suggesting the freewheeling semi-pro division. As far as the rest of your post, you may be right, but I prefer to think that schools that opt out of the pay for play format will actually gain status. At least they will in my eyes.
So I wanna hear folks spin this. Can anyone with a STRAIGHT FACE tell me that Maryland has more NIL money than UF?
MD has Under Armour backing, which could help. But they aren't paying or getting hardly any recruits demanding big money.
I say this only half jokingly but the great part about the hs players now is if they prove to be good we will get another chance to give them a bag next year.
Bobby, I don't get the impression that the staff is into playing games, regardless of the player. While committing to Colorado may not be seen as 'playing games' by some, I would assume we moved on and are no longer interested.
Mertz's old teammate and he can scoot... Say what you want about our 2024 class, but we will have tons of speed to burn next season, but we need more big uglies and big-nasties. Portal time and late flips would be cool.
UA founder is doing NIL deals with the Maryland athletes and dumping money into Maryland like PK at Oregon, although obviously not quite on the same level. As far as I know, Jordan brand hasn’t cut any individual deals with UF athletes. They aren’t dumping any extra money into the NIL pot. Just their branding deal with the UAA, which is a different account.
Waller from the state of Alabama was the catalyst for our D-line switches. We should have never ever recruited that clown.
