RedZone is a game changer. I love watching that on Sundays. I also like the physicality of the NFL game relative to college these days.
105 limit probably won’t go away. After the top 60 the rest by and large are dead weight except for a few development guys on the OL/DL. Hoarding kids isnt going to happen on a large scale the kids want to play and not sit. I see the opposite happening a contracting of the roster and some practice squad players by which time my attention for the once magical sport will waned to a point of indifference
Having practiced law for almost 50 years, I must say that the increase of judicial intervention in college sports is appalling.
I hope you are right but don’t have any faith in the NIL, NCAA, or schools to not continue to push cash and benefits under the table. You have more faith than I.
Scumus Winston has filled out papers to apply to fsu law school with three more years of eligibility.
This whole portal thing put the nail into the coffin of college football-that and NIL. College ball used to be about our guys versus their guys. That's what created fan enthusiasm and unity. We were excited about watching players develop, and looked forward to the future if we had recruited well. We were a tribe, a loyal tribe. That is all gone, which is why the younger generation is bailing on the game. The loyalty thing is what is so baffling. When I went to UF, I was so happy to be there I wouldn't have dreamed of leaving my friends, etc., behind and going to another school and starting over. Most of this new breed of football players could care less about the any of that, which is why are beginning not to care about them.
What private voluntary membership organization doesn't make up its own rules? What would constitute "membership" if there are no rules?
They just need to do away with all schollies plus the student farce requirement. ...take the NFL head on! NIL made the farce quasi pro anyway. If there can only be a splattering of *rules*, then %$$#@ it. Wild wild west! Let schools field the best mercenaries they can coax to play for em on any given Saturday, and let the cards fall where they may. At least we'd be done with the charade, and the running 'student' joke.
College football has been dead for a bit. It is now somethibg between college abd the NFL. The future will get much uglier before it gets better. Enjoy the FCS.
