It will be our 5th head to head next year since they joined the SEC. We have already been to College Station 3 times. UGA gets a favorable schedules every year.

 

Sucks for them they don't get to see more good competition. We get a lot of great games every year and have even won national championships against those tough schedules. But I'm a fan, not a coach trying to keep his job.

Not sure I’d compare the 2012 team to what we have now. You are correct in any given Saturday but we’ll most likely be the underdog in that matchup. Texas could be the defending national champs for all we know. Their program right now at this point in time is on a different level than ours.

 

I understand the sentiment, but the bye weeks have to go somewhere. Where should Texas’s second by week have gone?

It appears they honor teams’ request for byes, like Gators getting one before Georgia, and Texas getting one before Oklahoma. I don’t know that they take into account the feelings of a team who doesn’t want their opponent on a given day to be coming off a bye week. Seems that would create a nightmare in scheduling.

 

I wasn’t comparing teams. Next year is a new year. Especially in this transfer happy period. And I would prefer to be the underdog.

 

Meh, not a very good comparison and you know that. Two programs in very different situations.

 

Would you rather go to College Station or Tuscaloosa? When was the last time we were at Bama?

 

2014 is the last time we were there. Whens the last time uga went there? 2020 the covid season and before that 07 so..

Yes, we haven't been there in 10 years. And UGA would have been at TAMU if not for covid schedule shuffle. There is a rotationthe SEC has followed since expanding with TAMU, there isn't some conspiracy. And playing at TAMU hasn't been all that difficult, we won twice and absolutely gave the third game away

 

If that's true then why didn't we "ask for" one of our byes to be before an away game like Texas? Is that on us?

 

Personally, I've enjoyed it since I live in Texas! I've been to all 3 games. Heck of an environment. Even better with a Gator win!

 

I'm not saying there's a conspiracy, but the schedules are not equal, unless UGA just gets lucky.

They have played A&M as much as we have played Auburn after the expansion so I guess that's the common difference. I can't find the other west team UGA has played as much as UF has played A&M, other than them playing miss state and ole miss more than we have since expansion.

 

Can’t get everything you asked for. Having the bye week before Georgia is much more important.

If anyone has a complaint about byes it should be Kentucky. Their bye weeks come before Vanderbilt and Murray State, respectively. Shouldn’t need extra time to prepare for those.

Likewise, they play Tennessee after Tennessee’s bye week, and some of their other hardest opponents will be coming off easy wins before they play Kentucky.

Look at Oklahoma. They get both Ole Miss and Missouri coming out of their respective bye weeks.

 

Lol... thank you for paying. But I must insist that the Gators are certainly not a favorite team of the SEC and their schedulers.

 

You think he may get a bit of leeway due to his record?

 

Really hope MincEy signs with the good guys, we need help at that position. Hopefully the shot at early PT, a good NIL package, proximity
to family and getting to play with LJ swing him our way.

I am hopeful.

I wish guys would go ahead and commit… and then help build the team as they aid recruiting. Can’t they see how important that is?
