Report: Conservative parents more likely to raise mentally healthy teens (carolinajournal.com)

Conservative and very conservative parents are more likely to raise mentally healthy teens compared to liberal parents, according to a new study from the Institute for Family Studies and Gallup.

In contrast, liberal parents are more likely to have a permissive parenting style and “are the least likely to successfully discipline their children.”

“[C]onservative parents enjoy higher quality relationships with their children, characterized by fewer arguments, more warmth, and a stronger bond, according to both parent and child reporting,” the report concluded.

Importantly, household income, parental education, and race and ethnicity are largely unrelated to the quality of parenting and mental health outcomes for teens, the report found.

This explains why liberals are always angry

What are you talking about Angry libbie #1? I'm a conservative and have great relationships with my kids, have no reason to be angry.
I see this article touched a nerve with you, not surprising truth hurts don't it

A study from the Institute of Family Studies that may or may not be the best source. Take with a grain of salt.

    Right here
This kind of science is tough to evaluate. I can say that there is some legitimate reason to suspect many parents have become overly accommodating, as argued by Haidt and Lukianoff in The Coddling of the American Mind. Haidt has an upcoming book on the current surge in anxiety and depression that I think will be worth checking out.

Why do I get the feeling that the "Institute For Family Studies" is some group that labels themselves as conservative? "Conservative group says conservative children are the most stable"

Does the survey say if being raised by conservative parents makes one more gullible to believing conspiracy theories like Obama being born in Kenya and migrants getting $5000 gift cards?

Very accurate from personal experience. However, this goes across the board; liberal, conservative, and everything in between.

Yep. It's not just teens either since adults are also struggling - even if to a lesser degree.

I wonder if there are valid data on the intellectualism of conservative/liberal offspring. Interesting that this was the whole of your intellectual contribution in the op.
