I am NOT advocating for Napier to leave or be fired but the following info may be helpful for people to see that Napier is being given the opportunity to be successful.

This is Napier's contract buyout info!

Here's How Much Florida Would Have To Pay Billy Napier If He's Fired | In All Kinds of Weather.

So, he will not be leaving anytime soon unless he decides to take a job elsewhere of his own free will!

The contract is designed to give him a chance to be successful!

While I don’t disagree with him being fired after next season, I think you have the whole buy out situation wrong. Most coaches at P5 schools have insane buyouts. Those are negotiated by their agents. If the coach gets bought out then the agent gets his/her cut of that buyout. It’s as simple as that.

So I’d say that UF will give Billy his fair chance, but the fact that they’re still paying Dan Mullen to not coach here also factors in.

Which strengthens my claim that high buyouts keep coaches in jobs.

    The money adds up quickly.

No coach will take a job anymore without a buyout clause unless they have absolutely no power.

The fact that the agent benefits is obvious. They get a cut of the contract and the buyout.

Any money that they make for the coach.

And how the coach receives the money is negotiated with the number sometimes lowered if the coach gets it sooner.

There are 133 Div. I football teams. Only 35 head coaches have been at the same school for more than five years.

It is a cutthroat business thus the addition of the buy-out clause in contracts!
