That would be more like Ft. Morgan. Gulf Shores and Orange Beach you didn’t see the rigs. And by the way they were natural gas not oil. It was actually a little faster and easier for us to jump on I-10 and drive the ~30 miles to Pensacola.
Spent couple yrs post Navy working on a crew boat out of Theodore, Al. Lots of rigs in and out of Mobile Bay. Not like the Louisiana coast but still a lot.
Fairhope is pretty sweet. My buddy lives on the bay there and has a sweet boat in his lift. Can be at floating rigs pretty quick.
Maybe we should change the title of this thread. Everytime it gets bumped, I jump in to see if something good (or bad) is happening with JS. I know, how adacious!
