Has Billy fired the guy that called a double reverse with a pitch back to the QB that killed all the momentum last Saturday?
Nah he focused on the position coaches that over saw the worst defense in Florida history and teach flag football techniques
Uhh … great feedback from the players … DL unhappy and Xavier with the WTH … very promising commentary for the talent acquisition and rentention business … better have a couple homeruns lined up … Edit: Apparently after collecting “ourselves” guys are mostly understanding something had to be done… sometimes you gotta finish the thread then comment
Xavier and Lagway went live last night and basically said things happen and we're trying to get better. Doesn't really sound like they/X was unhappy as much as shocked. DL unhappy...You mean the worst D Line to play at UF in at least the last 2 decades? Saw Watson's tweet last night. Let him leave if he's not happy. He's slow, soft and out of shape. Made 3 impact plays in 2 seasons and will never be a major contributor unless he can get under 400 lbs- this is as much a reflection on the S&C coach as it is on Watson. Homeruns would be great but I'd be content with someone that can/will coach our guys up and not keep throwing players like 3, 21 & especially 8 on the field every game.
I think Watson's tweet was in response to some jerk calling him fat. I don't think he is angry at the team and coaches. And Watson has graded out fairly well, so I don't think you give him enough credit.
Apparently, he posted something to the effect of "it's just business, Billy has to do what he has to do.
Hopefully he did not pull the trigger without having the required ammo in the next cylinder. We may not know until after the post season games.
While the current coaching changes make a ton of sense, I'm curious who needs to be let go of next or can we simply add another coach in the position of OC? Regarding the "D". In the FSU game you could see aggressive D made all the difference, but when it came to defending the pass things really broke down in the secondary. Our kids will be in a better position to succeed with new coaching. Obviously! Go Gators.
I could see why he would respond to that that way then.... For what it's worth, Watson played 175 snaps this season and had 3 solo tackles and 8 assists 1 sack. I stand by my statement. Graded out well vs FSU but has pretty much been a wasted body on the field all season. I may not give him enough credit but perhaps you give him too much.
Watson is a phenom. The effort and fortitude to make it through each practice is uncommon. To make it on the field and make big plays is legend. Maybe he's not the type of player that should be on the team in the first place but he's what we have and we have needed him. He has done his best and deserves respect. I have no respect for anyone putting him down. I wish he could rag doll them like he did Rodemaker.
You can only have a certain amount of coaches but we have two OL coaches, the assumption is we end up with 1 OL coach and 1 OC in place of those two former OL positions.
I agree. However, the Gator defensive woes can be an attraction. Many good incoming Freshmen and portal transfers will see a good chance of playing time and maybe a starting position.
