Jimmy won't be long. They were unique people and true Christians, i.e., they practiced what they preached.

Rest in peace, Rosalynn. This will simply crush Jimmy, especially considering the state of his health before her passing. Can't even fathom losing your partner of 77 years.

You don’t think? President Carter has already been on hospice longer than any human I’m aware of. And I don’t say that to be snarky. In my experience, once someone goes on hospice, it’s weeks at the most. It’s been at least a year now for him.

Not trying to be argumentative here, but my MIL was on Hospice for over 2 years. She was taking all of these different medications and when she went on hospice they took her off all of them and she lasted over 2 years unfortunately, this last year was terrible.

Not taken as argumentative. Sorry to hear about your MIL. Bad way to spend one’s last years.

I was thinking that a spouse who had a long and deep relationship with a spouse who dies often dies quickly afterwards.

Yeah. They say there is no scientific proof of dying of a broken heart. But I 100% think it happens often.

He's been on death's door a time or two and he's 99 years old, so they must be going with their gut. Now that Rosalyn is gone, and being a religious man, he's probably going to start questioning why he endures.

Happened to a law professor at my university years ago. His wife of 40+ years had died over the summer and he dropped dead while teaching a class in September. He appeared quite healthy in his 60s too.
