Hyundai to Be First Automaker to Sell New Cars on Amazon (msn.com) The South Korean automaker announced the move Thursday with Amazon at the Los Angeles Auto Show. Starting in 2024, U.S. auto dealers will be able to sell new vehicles on the tech company’s platform, making Hyundai the first automotive brand to offer such an option for customers. Prospective buyers will be able to search on Amazon’s website for available vehicles in their area by model, color and features, and then complete the process using their chosen payment and financing options. As part of the companies’ partnership, Hyundai will include Amazon’s Alexa technology in the brand’s cars beginning in 2025, the companies said. The plan underscores how the traditional car-buying experience is continuing to be upended for the automotive industry. During the Covid-19 pandemic, automakers expanded at-home delivery programs during coronavirus-related lockdowns, while dealers broadened their websites to help customers tour showrooms virtually. I can see this working out rather good. I hate going to the dealership and being forced to listen to all the BS they try to up sale. The last few personal vehicles I purchased online and had them delivered and loved doing it that way, and saved thousands of dollars with no hassle
Damn that’s going to be a lot of cardboard to recycle. @flgator2 who did you buy through? I need a new car but dread going to a dealership, so I don’t.
LOL, I usually search for the vehicle on Autotrader, then contact that dealership directly. I've bought two from Howard Bently out of Alabama and saved $8000 on the last one and they delivered it to me. There was no hassle, they even gave me more on my trade than any dealership close to Gainesville.
I'm pretty sure they outlawed directly to consumer in Florida recently, cause we're the mostest freesest state!
The Republican super majority in the legislature and the Republican governor are strong advocates of a free market except when the free market could adversely affect well organized large political donors. Although Democrats are far from clean Republicans are the best politicians that money can buy.
I just want to smoke a recreational doobie on my porch while I cross dress and buy cars directly from GMC. Free state my arse.
I'm pretty sure you do that now, please don't post any pics. We have to put our foot down somewhere, so no buying direct from GMC. If not move to Gainesville they're definitely doing that here and have been for a while.
Yes. Not allowing direct to consumer sales is an important tenet of what our founding fathers stood for. I'm glad the GOP is so principled.
King George was like "no middle man shall there be" and we dumped his tea in the harbor and gave him the finger
No time to read the article right now, but are they offering cars directly from the factory... leaving out the middle man dealerships?
