Spoken like an Uber entitled “exceptional American”. There is no doom, because I’ve personally never experienced it. Perhaps we should inquire to the citizens of Russia or Syria or some other shithole failed state what happens when accountability is lost?
I disagree with both these assertions as far as me personally but the social unrest caused by or associated with wealth disparity is a thing.
It was a thing. That was before the poorest of the poor were provided assistance with shelter, food, clothing, and education. There's no one starving in a bread line. You'd be hard-pressed to find a family without multiple TVs, cellphones, and air conditioning.
It’s definitely a thing. It’s more of a thing for certain people though. If you’re raised properly, you don’t think to take other peoples stuff.
Could this be what's driving this: $1.8 Billion verdict (possibly $5.4 Billion) may break the real estate industry | Swamp Gas Forums (Note: posted link to this thread there, too).
No. The guy this time took a $1.7B short position against S&P 500. Meaning he effectively bet against the broad market. Has little or nothing to do with this topic that I can see. Other than some happenstance. 1) the guys previous “big short” was indeed targeted against real estate. 2) the coincidence that the amount of the verdict is similar to the supposed amount this guy bet short against the S&P, but one has nothing apparently to do with the other.
