Jesus wasn't lazy, and He didn't champion laziness, which redistribution is a well proven formula for.

You say the richest have the means to wipe out hunger, I say they only have such means for a short period of time (fleecing--rather feasting upon-- the golden egg laying goose) after which...you don't get no mo go'dun eggs.

Christ taught compassion...and tough love. He was crucified for us, not pampered. His story isn't cream puff warm and fuzzy, it's a story of suffering, hard work, determination, and sacrifice ...to get to the love part.

He even told us "...you will always have the poor". Hence 2 choices remain: virtually everybody shall be poor...or not everyone shall be poor--but there will be po folk ( or He lied--which is not an option for Christians).

I understand your point...and i appreciate the sentiment, but history and Faith expose its fallacy.

That you failed miserably in your interpretation of that particular scripture is the least surprising thing ever.

"There is enough wealth on the planet to support 8 billion ppl" + "a small % hoarding is the cause of [the poor] suffering" implies taking the wealth from the *hoarders* and giving to the poor--or even if we take his pie in the sky suggestion that those *hoarders* just happily give it away...

You're left with one glaring defect-- any basis at all to believe that the mechanisms the prompted the excess for hoarding, would continue to yield.

It's stupidity naive. It's been tried many times, and always fails. Just as Aesop predicted some 5,000 years ago with his golden egg/goose fable.

You may alleviate hunger for a short period of time, but if you don't tend to the means of satisfying tomorrow's hunger, all you will have done is hit the snooze button for a spell.

You know: feed a kid vs teach him to fish.

Redistribution of wealth, forced by the government is generally a fallacy. We agree.

Free and generous redistribution of ones personal wealth is EXACTLY what Christ calls us to do.

This isn't a political position. Its a Christian one. As believers we know that our money isnt ours. It is on loan from our creator and entrusted to us for a grander purpose.

This idea that 8B is a problem do to laziness isnt fair. Im not talking about the guy living in the projects that wont work because he is lazy.

I'm talking about starving villages where no birth control and little food/shelter exist.

I'm talking about the kids of the lazy person.

I'm talking about the single mom working 3 jobs while her kid has no one at home.

And I have a lot to improve on myself. But truth is truth.

Yours is a hard view, but you may be right. However, let me clarify what I meant by sharing the wealth. What I did not mean were giveaways (except in the extremely small number of cases where government assistance is necessary). What I meant was that workers - from the burger flipper to the auto worker - ought to share to a greater extent in the wealth they helped create. That's why I expressed my pleasure at the recent successes of labor unions.

Economic inequality destroys nations, and it - not liberals, wokeness or other cultural issues - is destroying ours. I think it goes a long way to explaining the frustration and anger so prevalent in today's America. Ten percent of households should not have at least seventy percent of the wealth.

We cannot have, and will never have, a completely equitable society, but we can do better.

    Liberals want fairness. HA.
That is irrational thinking. Yea, libbies are attempting to tear this nation apart with their beliefs.
Life ain’t fair. Historically, Americans have been extremely munificent people. But the govt is getting huge and libbies want more and more govt. that means more taxes and that means they are coming for our money.
Go home to your family and teach them to be grateful and thoughtful. Stop voting for big govt and stop trying to take other peoples money.

What an ignorant and nasty post! It's people like you who post such drivel, with such anger and pettiness, who are tearing this country apart, not progressives.
