    This was I guess a measure in the past, but shows how fringe Speaker Johnson really is.

    Speaker Johnson agreed to sponsor HR 431, which would ban birth control using the idea of "personhood," giving full legal rights to fertilized eggs. It would ban IUDs and other forms of birth control.

    Full legal rights to fertilized eggs is genius! My good friend who just had an ectopic pregnancy, where the fertilized egg implants outside the uterus, would be forced to carry the unviable baby as long as possible and probably cause irreparable damage and potential death to herself via blood loss. Good stuff!!

    He's not THAT fringe! If given the power, the GOP will ban birth control pills (see Clarence Thomas' concurring opinion in the Dobbs decision). Almost every one of them who want to ban them have enjoyed the pleasures allowed by easy access to birth control pills. Yeah...those men who want to ban them either have relationships with post-menopausal women or know that they will have access to birth control pills.

    These people need to butt out of our lives!
