How did you get that (not saying they are equivalent, BTW)? And how does that differ from the Mountain West Conference in 2003-4? Going 11-3 and 13-0 at Utah won't translate to the same in the SEC...

 

Last year‘s bowl game was a joke, because about a third of the team opted out of the game. We basically played a game with our second string scrubs.

 

Correct, and it's extremely concerning given the fact that the team will rely more on booster money to buy players moving forward but between lackluster on field performances, higher academic standards for actual students and increased numbers of international students that money is going to be harder and harder to find. Which in turn leads to a bigger gap between UF and peers, which leads to less money, on and on.

It just goes to show you recruiting doesn’t mean anything. If you can’t coach, you can’t coach. Zook killed it on the recruiting end and his players were ready to run through a brick wall for him, but he couldn’t coach SEC level football. The job is not for the faint of heart. Burned Mullen out. I guess the best thing we can do is give Napier 5 years total at least. Restore some stability to the job and keep it from being a constant revolving door. Our NIL money is linked to Napier being the coach, so we’re probably stuck with him at least another two seasons. Again, probably a good thing.

If Pearsal isn’t stripped for a TD, the defense would have held the opposing team to under 33. There are more excuses for the defensive play than there is for our offensive performance. The defense kept us in the game during the 2nd and 3rd quarters, and then ran out of gas. I have more understanding for the defense than the offense at this point.

The reason you want a bowl game is because it gives you an extra month to practice and develop young players, which we have a ton of.

to me, big plus would be that Lagway would be able to practice with Uf as well. Kind of like AR when he enrolled early.

though…our bowl game would be quite the dud and likely scheduled early in December. We didn’t even get in the full allotment of practices for last years bowl- would likely be the case this year too.
